Guest CS Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Where do you see our sport 10 years from now?
pigeonpete Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 yes i think it will be in trouble if things carry on the same, and i for 1 hope to do something about it :-/ dont know what though, we need new fanciers coming in, more good publicity needed!! were all guilty of sitting back thinking someone else will do somthing!!
THE FIFER Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 i think in 10 years time if it continues as it is now, it will be a thing of the past, i think the fancy pigeon will still be on the go and maybe even greater than now, showing yes,
carl Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 well i plan on still racing hopefully from my big massive garden i have dreamed about.i should have a few combine wins by then (i can only wish) i dont think it will be a thing of the past for sure not

Guest jason Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 over the last 10 years.....Todmorden hs has lost over half its members, so I think in 10 years there won't be a club in Todmorden. I think the future will be the one-loft races. jason
Keepsmilingqueen Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 i think with most of the members in my club in there late 50's to early 70's i will be lucky to have a club to fly in at all in the next 10yrs unless new members join, my village is as of this year down to one club having lost the shotton palms HS, only the Shotton WHS left now ;D
Ronnie Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 I think the sport will pick up again. My reasoning is that we are heading for a recession and all though we all pay through the nose's for birds and tonics now, we dont have to.And it will all come back to grass roots flying either on the allotment or in the back garden. For the next few years people are gonna be so worried about the steady decline in our sport that lots and lots of advertising will take place and then when the recession hits people will think back to what there grandads and dads did for fun.And see alll the advertising about pigeon racing and BANGGG people will go mad on flying the birds and a new industry will spring up and The humble pigeon fancier will help drag us out of the recession and make britain great again and we will all be Heroe's and every one will worship us and our birds .the great pigeon flyers will have statues erected in there honour along side the statue will be another statue of there best bird in gold............NAhhh we will be lucky to be racing i reckon
gangster Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 JASON TODDY USED TO HAVE A REAL STRONG CLUB I USED TO KNOW A GUY CALLED RAY STACEY WAS A GOOD FLYER UNTIL HE MOVED......USED TO FLY AT RAILWAY VIEW ALSO HIS NEIGHBOURS FLEW AS WELL....

westy Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 hopefully in a good job and doing well with my pigeons.
Roland Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Think it's time us plebes did a 'Our Mum' like - small grocers bailing together and keeping prices down. Need a Buying power, and limits set also in regards of what we pay for our birds. Have a chain where young of good birs are swapped amogst our selves.
