maverick Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 birds can be checked now for parentage through D.N.A. Idont know the cost but it can be done, i think it is only a matter of time before some conman fancier is caught out regarding parentage of birds
pigeonscout Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I don't think it should matter if you have stock lofts in your back garden or the other side of the world. If a fancier has stock birds in uk and they are still in his name then I see no problem with the young birds having his rings on them. At the end of the day you buy the bird and its pedigree not its ring. I can ring my birds with GB or IHU rings. If the person is in partnership with a dutch fancier then I cannot see how you can stop him putting dutch rings on. If he it breeding the dutch fanciers stock bird here in uk and the dutch fancier wants his own rings on them how can you stop him. They could be for sale or go back to Holland to race who knows.
pigeonscout Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 A ford is a ford no matter what plates are on it.
Guest Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I personally think it is wrong unless the buyer has been informed of where they were bred, however as a novice and a relative newcomer i wouldnt want to race foriegn rung birds its hard enough getting the GB rung ones reported instead of going straight into someone elses stock loft, ive heard fanciers get excited about getting a foreign rung pigeon in they say thats going in my stock loft. One point on the stray front from a novice if the pigeon is that good why is it a stray and not back at its own loft
gangster Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 A ford is a ford no matter what plates are on it. NOT IF YOU BUY IT OFF ME IT AINT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;) ;)

pigeonscout Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 ganster the english are buying of the dutch the dutch are buying of the Irish and the Irish are buying from the english who have dutch stock.
ticeye Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Mick Masserrella did at the Savoy their birds are rung with MFC rings which i think are distributed mid november these birds that were sold at blackpool did it give a british or dutch name and address on the pedigree
THE FIFER Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 scottish fanciers can ring with GB rings and vice versa, nothing to say a bird rung with GB is bred in england or a bird with SU bred in scotland,
Guest Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 any one who buys just because its a dutch /belg etc gets what thy deserve but the person decieving them should be sorted out but pigeon men generally buy any thing as someone said on an early post would you buy a car from Arthor Daily we just seem to trust the word without even knowing any thing about the seller lets face it we have all done it
ray Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 at the end of the day they are conning the british pigeon fancier, so it should be nipped in the bud, these people are con artistes, hooks and rogues thats all it boils down too, there birds mustn't be good enough with there own rings on, they should be reported, ray
Guest CS Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 These pigeons were bred in England and should be rung accordingly!!!!
jimmy white Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Completely out of order and should be stopped in my eyes it is deception AGREE, ABOUT RINGING WITH CONTINENTAL RINGS BUT DIFFERANT WITH UK RINGS IE SHU, GB ETC ETC ,,,,THE THING THAT BEATS ME IS WHY DO FANCIERS THINK THESE BIRDS ARE BETTER JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A BELGE OR NL RING ON
pigeonscout Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Jimmy it does not matter what the bird looks like or what way it was bred it could have 4 legs two heads and one wing if it has a foreign ring on its leg it must be a good bird that's how some fanciers think.

Guest coxy Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 its depends upto what they wer being advertised as but i can see ur point to me its fraud making them out to b sumthin at they aint and making money out of it
jimmy_bulger Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 if the birds were sold as direct dutch stock (meaning directly from holland) then they turn out to be direct uk stock with dutch rings on then that is fraud and there is an rpra rule about bringing the sport into disrepute. so were they sold as direct dutch stock or not.? jimmy.
pigeonscout Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 who was selling them? and who do you know they where bred in uk?
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 you are aloud to use the rings for your own use but not to sell em with
mark163 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 agree with coxy name and shame them its not on
