Sean Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Hi all iv just join a local club only to be told after iv joined my son can not attend basketing night's nor clock reading. most of you on here will know iv an 8 year old son who is disable and is very intrested in pigeon this is mostly why i restarted in the sport. im totally cheesed off regarding this and can not sleep much as its playing on my mined. iv had this out with the club sec and only to be told children are not allowed(club rule) iv told him my son is disable im a single parent and their is no carer's to have him. iv asked if he could come if he was in partnership with me NO asked if he could join the club as a single member NO and YES upto members to get in the club but if he did as a flying member then he can not send is bird would have to get others to do his birds and clock. what is the sport comming to we need younger member's and not to be kicked away or refused membership the club should be name and shame and im going to do it FARRINGDON HS SUNDERLAND dose anyone eles have anycluse how to resolve my problem ?

square_peg Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 there is no legal reason for your son not being in partnership with you.if its because your son is disabled then the members of that club should hang there heads in shame :-/
ACE LOFTS Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 has the club sec got a email address, what we can do is bombard him with emails. if not we will all get together and send him a letter instead. i will surely take half hour of my time to write 1. this is disgusting

THE FIFER Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Sean not into it much, but what about the new laws which came in recently regarding access to places for the disabled, i would contact ur union, which union are u under. in my view its well out of order.
Jeremy Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I thought they would want to get children to come to the club and encorage young fanceirs to take part. Its a dying sport now and it will soon be stone dead if all clubs banned children. How very sad it has come to this Sean..

Roland Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Comes under the Discrination Act. All and evry one has to abide by te rules (Lord of the flies said B**l**ks to the rules ... grand chappie) But each ane evry one, concerns, unions, clubs, firms. place of employment etc. etc. can make any rules democratically voted in, or Man Managerment PROVIDED it doesn't infringe the law of the land, or your Human Rights. S o if you knew before, why did you join... if you didn't then it can't be upheld. Their only defence would be that he could be a danger to A. Himself or others, which reliastically would be another load of //// Lord OF THE FLIES.
