I'm starting training a week tommorow, that gives me 4 weeks and they will have a 20 mile chuck everyday the weather allows.

Cheers brian, should be good fun, I've 6 young birds myself and as the kids have my young bird loft for the one-loft project, I'll be racing these 6 against them to my old bird loft.

Not yet but in 2 or 3 weeks, ill start to train old birds.

Too early for me, channel birds won't see a basket till may - widowers most years they get a couple a week before the first race or if flying well at home will jump straight into the first race. Works for me last two years won the first race doing that. Last year won the first 5 with no training birds flew exceptionally well at home.

 

Sometimes I think we train to make our selves more confident.

 

Just my own way of doing things.

Training!!!!!!! I havent even started letting the birds out yet LOL, going to start getting them fit over the next few weeks. Ill miss the first few weeks as Im away, so mine will be started from the 3rd race hopefully, so will have to get one or two 40milers into the unraced yearlings!!!!
