Black latex bonded nest felts

Hi I used black nest felts last year and found them very good.But after all the bad press in the BHW I didn't use the ones I had bought in. I would be interested to no what your opinions are. Deborah

theres only one place for black latex in my opinion .... and its not in nest felts . glad you had a good breeding season last year ,but i understand many have had a bad time with them . i am unsure but beleive they detoriate in quality over time .        andy.

Hundreds of young were lost through fanciers using these felts

i used this year wont  use again  they detoirated quite  quickly  went thru more than usual youngsters okay but will go back to old nest felts next season

I used the felts for two nests they didn't come apart at all,can't understand that. :-/ :-/

if in any doub't , with the black felt's , latex or plain , put into a pillow case tie the end , wop them in the washer ,

i dont see any need for nest felts i breed early and have never used them and still rear sound ybs,

A bit strange why this happens and certainly never ever used them but know a few very good friends of mine have all had troubles with them and found some of there youngsters dead so wouldn't dream of getting them and never heard of anyone say they have reared good youngsters on them anyway. so it's taboo i'm afraid :'(

Yes, Bryan had my moments with these felts, lost some ybs earlier in the season, contacted the supplier and he shat himself, he will need a nappy when I see him at the shows ;D

yes chris i had a few die in the nest too not in race loft

used them in the stock loft  

as for the suppier give him one for me too  (evil)(evil)

yes wee used them in the stock loft at the garden and lost three nests got rid of them myself ive only ever used oat straw for donkeys years no problem.

If in doubt leave them out, Ive used them and not had any problems but why risk losing a round ?
