Three Eggs

Well have heard of it, though never seen it personally… but now I have a pair of yearlings that have laid three eggs… Yes I believe it was the Hen that laid them lol. I presume that they will rear them as normal. First nest for both of them.

I think one will be small, round and clear, the other two normal.

 

And even if not, don't think they'll make much of a job sitting 3 normal size eggs, would expect at least one out-of-kilter, not under the bird, not turned etc.

Will have to let nature take it's course as to what is not sat etc. I guess

should be ok my mate had this 2 years ago all fertile and raised all 3 perfectley fine

if the hen lays 3 eggs there is no reason why they are not fertile, sometimes though it could be another hen laying in the nest or 2 hens paired.

We've had hens lay 3 eggs before - pretty rare though

 

Sometimes all 3 hatch - often only the two.  

 

Mother Nature knows best on this one

We have had the same happen to us.Not sure if its the same hen that layed all 3.All have matured nicely.

i had that happen this year but only two hatched the other was clear
