Roland Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 after i seen it working for myself, i am adult enough to make my own mind up and not be coerced Aye and you have plenty of money, and a loft in your own back garden no doubt. Simply I like every one else has heard umpteen times the 'Good Things'! but ain't much good if you can't have one! Then that is very discriminating that some can and other can't!
ALF Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Roland read 2 posts above yours ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Roland Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 Did Alf, just re - inforcing your statement. Just who and where does one apply for the set up? and with the many thousands of clubs applying - and Olympic funds to have - bet that avenue will soon be closed!
tubbles Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 I would just like to say that if your clubs applied for lottery grants and were successful, I am pleased for you but what if, another club in your federation applies and gets knocked back by the lottery people. Would you just say, tuff tits and get on with it. not worried that you are gaining the time-in advantage over those without the system but if the boot was on the other foot then perhaps you people who have been "GIVEN" the system would then have something to complain about. I have said all along that i am not against this ETS but, it should be for ALL or NONE in the same federation. and i suppose that should go to AMALgamation....Combine .....National. All the birds are liberated together they race together then when they reach the home end someone who does not have to chase them around the loft to get the rubber off or even just BE there can have a huge advantage. It just makes me laugh that this system, good or bad for the sport was brought in to stop able bodied people having an advantage over elderly/disabled fanciers. If that is the case then why does the RPRA not say that ONLY Disabled or elderly fanciers may use it. but then the Real people who wanted the system would be discriminated against.
robbie Posted April 9, 2007 Author Report Posted April 9, 2007 just in from the backshift, working this w/end aswell as i do ever other w/end, have done for the last 20 odd years, had to either get some one else to clock my birds in or not race, is that being discriminated against, no i just got on with it .i personally, when first heard about ETS was sceptical, but once i had learned all the facts, not rumours or heresay, the advantages far outway the disadvantages, yes price is the major stumbling block, but already because of demand our rings have decreased in price by 10 pence, a step in the right direction at least, most clubs in our fed are now equipped with a ETS system or heading in that direction, but some members are still opting for manual clocks, which is how it should be ,freedom of choice no discrimination here, where does this does this end, if a fancicer can afford better birds than me should he/she have his birds handicapped If interested you can apply thru 'SPORTS FOR ALL' to receive lottery funding
