Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 At what day before the race on the Saturday would you stop training your birds, or would you continue right up till the thursday, based upon your tosses being 40 miles, no short tosses are available.
Guest jason Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Mine have just returned from a 40 mile toss and they are going tommorow, wednesday and thursday then I'll loft fly friday morning. Jason
Guest Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Hi Tammy, for me it would be dependant on what the previous Saturdays race had been like, what the training had been like during the week, and what the race distance and weather forecast was for the coming Saturday. ie; if they have had a hard race / hard training schedule, I would ease off by the Wednesday to give them time to build for the coming race. If they have had an easy previous race, and tail-winds all week, then Thursday would be included for training also! In my opinion, you have to feel the condition of your team and take appropriate measures accordingly.
