So sorry about your birds, I know how devastated you must fell..horrible hawk took one of mine birds 11 days ago. It has taken so many, thinks it's McDonalds. Anyway the little dove has survived, she was horribly injured but somehow is still alive. She looks terrible but is now eating and drinking on her own and preening. She is miserable but until her wounds are well healed, I must keep her alone. At least I got her...we'll see how she goes but I'll probably keep her in as couldn't see her caught again poor thing.

All the best.

same here yesterday, a hawk  [perigrine] ive been watching for a while now,, came from nowhere  , just nipped a good black cock , a few feathers lost in the air ,the birds went sky high, and the pair of crows warded this hawk off in to the distance , but i can tell you, that was one lucky bird,,just afew feathers off his back, , and that was with me being there at the time , and to be honest, even if i had ,had a gun , it wouldnt have been any good ,  ive been watching this bird for a while now, and every time it comes anywhere near,, the crows have warded it off,  but itll come once to often?,,,the crows will get it????

Ben, you can download from

http://www.albertaclassic.net/hawks/hawks.php

thats if you know how to do it !! (I don't  :-/ )

can you not get your young birds into a corridor while you clean out - then let them out when you have finished - so that you can supervise them in the garden ?

i sent you a disc so what do you want to download it for[ and its easy to do ]

i dont have a corridor and the problem is because i have them on a farm it open, when i jave them in the back garden they cant get the birds, but the back garden is way to small to race to (can just get an 8 x6)
