We went to Fougeres with the Solent Fed last week and the fed bill totalled £1977.00, that was a Friday night basketting and 1676 birds went at £1.18 per pigeon.

Next week we are Thursday night basketing for Messac with a below 1000 birdage predicted which will give an anticipated price of well in excess of £2.00 per bird for 208+ mls. and it will only get dearer with the 7day rule in force.

Our club will be in the region of £1.50. We have six consecutive channel races through to Niort 500miles. I haven't raced raced natural  over the pond for donkeys years, but will be doing so this time. I have a number of hens up to 5 years old, that haven't raced since ybs. I have staggered the parings, over the last few weeks, and moved the hens down the road  in training. I will obviously have more birds to race, But the loft atmosphere is like a beehive! open loft, comings and goings all day long. It will be VERY interesting to see how it turns out, because Iv'e always stuck to the widower cocks till the ultimate OB race. But right or wrong, it has added a lot more interest. ;) Vic.
