GUTTY HEN Posted July 10, 2007 Author Report Posted July 10, 2007 I would hope that all the rules for this race is the same as the last two inland races ie thursday for saturday.Basket times the same as inland races, cost per bird same as inland races number of birds in basket same as inland race the same with the prize money all in all the same as maidstone .This will be confirmed after the meeting on wednesday night and all members will get a letter via the post by the end of this week to inform you of the details for this race.
Pego Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Longer the distance the better for me but most of all lets hope ALL the birds get a good chance of making it home. Fingers crossed the weather changes for the better : :

andy Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 can non-members join to fly this National like the last 2 inland Nationals. ?? If not, Why not. Why did you not join at the start of the season, and be a commited member rather than a sit on the fence one. Rule should be changed, you either join or you dont.
elanco Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 I am a paid up member, only asking on behalf of a non -member who has flown both inland nationals.
GUTTY HEN Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 If you want to join the snfc to fly from eastbourne next week then this is ok not a problem all you do is pay £7.00 and you can join for to fly in this race. You can send your money to andy garven and he will send you out the paper work or turn up at a marking station on the night and pay your £7.00 on your sheet and you can race .The marking stations all have sheets that you can use on the night .Hope this helps you and look forward to seeing you at the marking next thursday all the very best in the race.
GUTTY HEN Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 The idea is to get as many people as possible to become members .The £7.00 idea is to try and help get people in with the view that they will become full members.Only time will tell but could all members try and help get more people to join one way or another .This eastbourne race might help people join lets all live in hope.

All the best Andy for Eastbourne lets hope i can take some pool money of u, you have won 2 much anyway. Cheers and good luck to you, but you never win too much pool money, you pay your money and take your chances. Some people get dizzy when putting Xs on their sheet but its purely OPTIONAL :o ;D
GUTTY HEN Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 Andy we need to try and help as many people as possible to join the snfc.We no longer have the market to ourselfs and need to try anything that might help people get the bug to go for it and join by being a full member. If in the short term they only go to one race and pay £7.00 then thats a start they may then go for it next year and become a full member.I think this is worth trying to see how it works out.If you have any better ideas then could you please send them in to the snfc secretary where they can be on the agenda for the next agm. That is if you go to the agm .
W.D. Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Does that not tell you something if fanciers dont want to send to the channel but would like to have more races from 250mls+ if they could get them? The guys on the borders who can race with the UNC + Cumbrian Fed might be able to help provide some details? When you look at the English Midlands for example and the south coast lads, they have plenty to choose from for this type of racing.Especially the MNFC which is getting bigger all time.
GUTTY HEN Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 I take on board the view of WD s point about middle distance races which i feel the snfc give the members but we also must not forget the history of the club has been for 500/600mls for all in scotland .I would like to think that our members all like to try at least one of the 500ml races each year when we can and we must get back to four water races for the members who wish to go to these races as has been in the past. This in turn would give everyone in scotland races via the snfc well worth the £20.00 fee each year. The races where we make money will offset the races where we loose money but we must also look at going to our further races with our friends south of the boarder where this is possible. We must all look at what is best for the snfc members and cater for all our members in the best way we can to keep the snfc strong and forward thinking
Jumbo Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Gutty Hen what do you think of the idea of going to Clearmont with the Up North Combine plenty of birds there?????????? Just a thought
jimmy white Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 any thoughts on the outcome of the meeting by defra on tuesday ,,reported by peter bryant?
Guest Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Just to back up Jimmy's post, this is the info posted by pompey mick which may change things next week [week commencing 16th July]:- The Saga goes on, having just re-arranged our Fed YB programme it looks as if there is a chink of light on the horizon. Dear All Just spoken to DEFRA. They have a further meeting on Monday with some kind of decision/review probably on Tuesday. My French contact with an ear to the French Government has indicated that the French government may review the situation Tuesday next week so watch this space. Belgium has indicated that we can race from there but of course this is dependant on DEFRA changing their ban. I have advised DEFRA that Belgium is an option for us if France continue their ban. Spain it would seem is out of the question whilst they insist on 45 days notice of liberations and anyway this will be far too far for YBs. Further update next week as and when. Regards Peter Bryant General Manager
