One of the best days ever for ybs to start their racing career, yet some new fanciers have been mislead, by  Mumbo Jumbo.  Behave Youselves! ;) ;D

did you send any racing or training then vic  ;)

The only trouble with Vic is his wholehearted truthfullness,. Some think I'm taking the p*ss. No way! Yes Sammy I did train yesterday and they fell in as one. Today a completely different ketle of fish. I had three hens come before any of the others, and immediately thought about Bilcos theory, At the end of the day I am still 6 down, but the weather here this afternoon has been atrocious,, with low dark cloud cover  and drizzle. They'll be here when it lifts, but this has nothing to do with all the mumbo jumbo, it was just a case of taking a chance with the weather or miss the first one.

Vic everyone is entitled to there veiw but could you please explain the heavy losse's fron Sennen cove yesterday please? It may not of happened to everyone but people round here have been wiped out.I'm talking about Fanciers sending 30 birds and getting one or two some havnt had that.

I must agree with you on the youngbirds though first race of the season and got 25 outa 26 the majority in good time. After talking to fanciers locally i can only put down the heavy losse's to either bilco's k factor theory or maybe a few birds went acroos the bristol channel and some took the dog leg one batch mustve hit bad weather

I think it helpful to point out two things - (1) the technology is there for the benefit of astonaut safety while they are in Space not on the ground; (2) it is well known that solar activity drives Earth's weather systems ... simply put, it has some affect on the weather.

I also think it helpful to point out the two race experiences on the same day posted here, YBs perfect OBs disaster, when you would ordinarily expect the exact opposite, given the OBs experience and the YBs lack of it.

So reckon Mulder's X files are nearer the mark for giving reasons for this anomaly than solar activity, which after all is a completely natural event thats been goin on for millenia.

who would dare think that of you MR VIC, you are a professor well-schooled in mumbo jumbo, quite clever of you training young birds when the weather is atrocious and taking a chance, maybe that's because you are a chancer

Ronnie, Has not Sennen Cove always been a difficult racepoint? Probably too many

awaiting predators. Who really knows?

Weather at Tiverton on Saturday, was broken cloud wind at ground level fairly light wsw, though seemed much stronger at a 100'. When the sun was out, most of the afternoon, it was quite hot.

At times we are on the line of flight for Sennen if there is a lot of west in the wind.

Our birds were at Ramsgate 211 miles liberated at 9.30, we estimated four and a half hours i.e. 2ish.

We actually didn't clock until 3.35.

I was watching from 1.30 and I saw nothing travelling North which is unusual (though my partner Henry would tell you I'm as blind as a bot).

We actually won the race, by about 20 mins which was when most of the birds strted coming through. It was far tougher than expected, and there seemed no reason why?

Appreciate doesn't through much light except to say conditions on line up through the west country appeared ok. Perhaps Ben could say what weather was like down in Cornwall Saturday morning?

One other thing I did notice the moon was out early mornings last week (6ish) and Henry has this thing about the moon still out daytime, think its time when you get dodgy races / tosses, don't ask me why, but since I've been looking seems to be right!!???

I'm still new to Pigeon racing Vic so still have an open mind :).After asking fanciers around here they all agree sennen cove is a really difficult racepoint for some reason or another. One of my Uncles birds was reported last night in northern island from the same race.the bird had previously won the sandbach open and been to niort twice as well as winning numerous cards at club and fed level from the channel and inland.

So something seems to have really upset the bird's could just be raptors going through the batch or maybe something a little more .

I finished up losing 3. yesterday, but the weather.is very unpredictable. Ain't it?Sent my remaining  50 to Tarporley today (about 30 mile) and they all came together. HOW? I DON'T KNOW! because there were quite a number on the wagon.

Good sign? Maybe? ::) ::)

i always thought vic you should not put all your eggs in one basket. with the weather like it is you have a bad toss you might have a case of the lost factor.
