i think its impossible to know who is the best flyer as rose stated unless they race against each other....one thing i always look at is...size of birdage...some are good fed winners but have small birdage(not nescessary names above)...so its a catch 22 situation,  paul

j&p webber/preece bros/iddie davis/ list is long...i believe preece bros have won 7 national by themselves...on different routes with good size birdage.plus countless 2nds 3rds and so on..paul

there have been many great fanciers through the years from all over the uk , i dont think anyone can claim to be the best ,,,,,but there certainly have been and still are, fanciers of the highest of standards over many years,,,but their getting lesser

Some people support Man Utd. Liverpool,Chelsea,Celtic, Rangers,Cardiff or Linfield it's all a matter of choice the best way would be to have a One Loft Race where they could all compete against each other but would it work as some are sprint specialists others are middle distance, long or extreme distance there are too many variables so personal preference rules

AS MANY NAMES AS YOU CARE TO DIG UP CAN BE PUT FORWARD BUT UNLESS THEY RACE EVERYTHING EXACTLY THE SAME, AS IN BIRDS SENT DISTANCE AND SUCHLIKE NOBODY CAN CLAIM OR BE PUT UP AS THE BEST FLIER ANYWHERE, IF ANYBODY WANTS TO LAY CLAIM TO THE TITLE THEY SHOULD ALL ENTER THE SAME AMOUNT OF BIRDS IN ONE LOFT RACES YEAR AFTER YEAR AND THEN AFTER THEY HAVE ALL DONE THIS FOR A FEW YEARS THEN JUDGE THE PERFORMANCES, UNTIL THEN IT IS A NONSENSE TO TRY AND CLAIM ANYBODY AS THE BEST OR GREATEST FLIER ANYWHERE

It is impossible to say who is the best in the U.K.You can only really go by who is the best in each area.That takes away the advantage of loft location etc, but on the other hand if I were to pick someone as my loft manager ,it would have to be Geoff Kirkland.

there could be a thousand on the list but until they all raced from the same place with the same amount of birds there will never be anybody who could be classed as THE BEST FLYER IN THE UK

The sprint specialist would have to compete at the distance and vice versa but then they would breed birds for each distance. I have to agree with Tammy on this one I think the question is loaded and again down to personal preference too many excellent fanciers out there and would do an injustice to pick one over the other.
