Guest Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Back to wartime diet search and scour the hedge-rows, toast crumbled up some of the fanciers used to make their own pigeon cake with simple ingredients. :( thats the way the doo game is going were only people who have money can afford it
Guest Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Don't think the current price rises are anything to do with bad harvests, its due to the current high demand. Crunch will come when current stocks dwindle & can't be replaced by this years harvest, then blame will be put on bad weather and crop loss during summer floods, .... and prices will increase again.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Classic example (for us Scots)" New potatoes" increase in price of chips did it come down did it heck just went back when new spuds came back again - a small bag of chips £1.00 Plus :( I think corn will be the same on the up and up will the pigeons eat a small bag of chips though ?
DOVEScot Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 will the pigeons eat a small bag of chips though ? The street ones sure do anyway ;D
DOVEScot Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 The thing is apart from the flood areas the harvest was good because all the wet weather, then the good weather at the end to the season swelled the crops and increased the yeald

Fair Play Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Tammy - throw down a bag of chips for the "streeties" and see how fast they go hot or cold makes no difference. Not sure if they prefer tomato or brown sauce they all go ;D
Guest Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 do you not mean bean juice ? Often wondered what baked beans were, found out a long while back to my utta amaizement that they're not beans at all but maize. Seems it was a marketing ploy by Heinz all them years ago when they reckoned 'maize' would put us Brits off buying [ 'baked maize' ] so called them 'baked beans' instead. Now are they baked? ;D And will the birds eat them? ;D
