Guest dogeon Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 if you purchased your ets and its always at home and not left at the club, who is responsable for the insurance? do we still pay the clubs insurance for the clocks or get your own,
Guest Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 if you purchased your ets and its always at home and not left at the club, who is responsable for the insurance? do we still pay the clubs insurance for the clocks or get your own, Check your home contents insurance cover. If ets is your property then that should cover you, but just check what it says about (1) articles in garden sheds and (2) contents temporarily removed - your own insurance covers your clock in your pocket down to marking and back ... in other words, anywhere. The club master ets system remains at the club, the club clock insurance has still to cover that along with the conventional clocks, if there are any. [Meant to check with our Secy on insurance, but ours is different, ets 'at home' belongs to the club].
Guest Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I have removed jimbobboy post and a reply to it - posted while I was composing an answer to the question dogeon asked - and this post, as neither is relevant to the question asked.
DOVEScot Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 If the pads become hot property for the thieves then you are better taking out a seperate policy Insurances are tightening up on claims, any more than a small amount is a short number of years makes you uninsurable and increasing the excesses as well. Gone are the day's of claiming for things unless it's really worth it :-/
Guest dogeon Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 i didnt really want to know if i could claim but more to do i still need to pay the club insurance
ALF Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 WHEN WE GOT THEM FOR OUR CLUB EVERYONE HAD TO SIGN TO SAY THAT EACH INDIVIDUAL MEMBER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE & OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY LOST OR STOLEN PARTS
chickadee Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 if you purchased your ets and its always at home and not left at the club, who is responsable for the insurance? do we still pay the clubs insurance for the clocks or get your own, What I would do there is get in touch with your club and ask them about their insurance policies for such matters.
Guest Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 i didnt really want to know if i could claim but more to do i still need to pay the club insurance I think you'll find the insurance policy covers all the clubs assets including for example the premises, tables, chairs etc if these are the club's own, and general items like the race baskets and computer. Think insurance premium also comes out of club's general running costs - its a balance sheet item - and as these are met by your annual fees, would say you still have to pay your whack towards it.
DOVEScot Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 You can get anything underwritten on an insurance policy if you find a broker and pay the premium We had a special policy drawn up for sport coaches and club members, wasn't worth the paper it was written on, but kept us in the clear with public liability What if the club ets went up in flames and burnt the house down(a bit extreme but possible) what insurance company would pay out :'( :'( :'(
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I have been in touch with our insurance company (NFU MUTUAL) and explained to them the suituation with ets clocks,as the policy is a all risks policy the clocks are basically covered wether you have them at home or at the club.I was advised to tell anyone who thought that their house insurance might cover them to get intouch with their own company to find out exactly what their own policy covered.

PIGEON_MAN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 so your saying that my annual club fee covers insurance and there for my ets clock and mats are covered In our club the clock insurance is separate from the club fee,s,this is totally voluntary, as some members choose not to have seperate clock insurance because they say their house insurance covers their clock or clocks but as this as allready been advised it is best to check with your insurance company just to make sure they are covered.
Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 so your saying that my annual club fee covers insurance and there for my ets clock and mats are covered No. My understanding is that your ets system is your own? If this is so your clock and pads in the loft, and your pocket clock should all be covered by your own house contents insurance, subject always to what the policy says it covers. Mine says ''home includes domestic garages and outbuildings on the same premises used in connection with your home". "contents personal belongings which you own or are responsible for." "contents you temporarily remove from your home". My ets system is not my own, I am responsible for it, so I am covered for loss, theft or accidental damage to it irrespective of where that 'event' occurs. But like you, my club has a club master ets system held at the clubhouse. In both our cases that is one of the things covered by the club's own insurance. Both of us must pay something toward that.
Guest dogeon Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 i think i will check with the club and my home insurance i will have to get it sorted and most of all i don't want to be paying twice thanks for all your help
