Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 YES IF YOU GET THE RING CARD SO THERE COULD BE 07 BIRDS BEING RACED AS 08 :-/
Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 RPRA rule birds must carry the ring from country of origin. So if you were actually buying the birds from Morocco allwould be above board. If not you are breaking a rule.
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 please dont move this thread HOW COME MAROCCO HAVE 2008 RINGS ALREADY??? ITS ONLY 2007! Simple they issue theirs before the start of the new year.

Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 i know at the europa 1 loft race there's bird's in there that were not bred in the country of their ring is this ok . Note sure on this one, do they race their race (s) under RPRA rules?
chickadee Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 YES IF YOU GET THE RING CARD SO THERE COULD BE 07 BIRDS BEING RACED AS 08 :-/ Surely they won't be allowed to actually put the 08 rings on their birds untill next year.?????
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Surely they won't be allowed to actually put the 08 rings on their birds untill next year.????? They obviously have differant rules than we do about issuing rings, and when birds can be rung.
chickadee Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 They obviously have differant rules than we do about issuing rings, and when birds can be rung. Well I suppose everywhere is different, but, you'd think they'd make that a hard and fast rule that the birds weren't to have 08 rings on untill the stated year on ring. :-/
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 YH THEY CANT STOP IT NOW CAN THEY
Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I think the point you've missed is that these rings are on ebay for sale, and that is surely wrong, given that they are distributed 'early' to Federation Secys for distribution to their Club Secys so that ordinary members can have them by beginning of January next year. No rings should be outside that National Organisation - Federation - Club Official's loop just now because the whole point of ringing is for registering birds in the year of their birth. As you say, 2008 rings in member's possession just now could go on October 2007 bred youngsters which would be fully moulted-out yearlings by August 2008, the time when most YB races start. Basically, that's just cheating.
Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I've changed the thread title, Ben, to make it clearer wot its all about.
coey Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 poland have 2008 rings out now. i think they race different times of the year and thats why they are issued earlier. my dad worked with a polish pigeon flier and he said they raced different times.

Personally i think everyone else is missed the point here which I think is,the Morrocan union obviously as differant rules about issuing next years rings than what we do,so they have broken no rules by issuing them now,as to wether anyone could buy these rings, put them on birds now and then race them next year as youngsters i,m not sure how you would come off, suppose it would be down to what the differant associations in britain say in their rules.
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 NEHU Rules - foreign ring registration - must be accompanied by a vaccination certificate from country of origin - signed by a vet
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Very good rule I think that covers the situation that could arise perfectly.
DOVEScot Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 A long shot but maybe on sale for collectors to buy :-/
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 A long shot but maybe on sale for collectors to buy :-/ they are on e-bay for collectors but some people are under the impression that you can breed early youngsters - like now and pass them off as 2008 youngsters by putting foreign rings on them

Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 most probably they race earlier in morroco, and maybe finnish earlier. rings for 08 are now in belgium,if u work at the place where they make them u could smuggle them out,if u was that way inclined. if most everybody in the uk get theirs early in jan..they must be making them now.
Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 have i read somewhere that the RPRA have got theirs in already? and have begun packing them up ready for dispatch??
Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 They've got to be there early, Geraint, to give folk time to get them distributed. Cannot clearly remember the year or the month, or the occasion, but my fed officials were in our clubhouse, and Fed pres handed over the next year's rings to our club secy. I was there when this took place and was surprised, seemed very early, maybe even before October?
