aarden Posted December 7, 2007 Author Report Posted December 7, 2007 is there any difference between a wind up or a quarts,is one any better
ALF Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 BOTH TYPES OF STBS ARE USUALLY GOOD TIME KEEPERS
ALF Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 I'VE GOT AN OLD STB THAT MY UNCLE BOUGHT NEW IN 1978 AND IT NEVER LOSES MORE THEN 10 SECS ANY TIME IT'S USED IN A RACE (IN FACT KELLY TOM PROBABLY USED TO SET IT YEARS AGO )
Guest Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 ;D ;D ive also a benzing cream cased wind up , and a jundes - thexor which is the best part of a hundred years old i beleive andy
Pompey Mick Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 I'd go for a T3, much bigger thimble drum and you can view all the times at any time. The STB has only a small window which shows the last time clocked. With the ETS systems becoming more popular by the day the price of T3s are falling. Wait until after Blackpool when there could be a spurt on ETS buying, which could see more secondhand clocks on the market.
ALF Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 ;D ;D ive also a benzing cream cased wind up , and a jundes - thexor which is the best part of a hundred years old i beleive andy ANDY DID YOU BUY THE JUNDES NEW?? ;D ;D ;D
Guest Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 When first started up many moons ago, used a skymaster printer; then a toulet puncture. Restarted with a STB Quartz, now use Unikon ETS.

THE FIFER Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 is there any difference between a wind up or a quarts,is one any better the only thing with a wind up is if u are in a 2 day race etc it could wind down, if not properly wound up. also they are limited to how long they go on a wind-up. i have a ets. benzing brown case and a stb digital red case.
