Cut down on the number of youngsters I breed for starters, enter 2 youngsters into Kenny Balds one loft race, Concentrate on my Janarden strain I obtained from Swilcox.  Fly both a roundabout and natural team, and enter as many as possible SNFC races ;)

Going to try a roundabout type of system .Using my cocks for club racing and my hens for national's.

I only have a small team of birds and no stockers .so i will be breeding of my racer's.Looking at trying something new for my youngsters a little variation on the darkness.

Still working on it.  :)

I've 34 pigeons all told, so my young bird team looks to be around 12 for racing the programme, and I'd like that to include YB National which will be a 1st for me.

Most of the race birds will not be rearing a youngster, that's a big change based on member's advice as I had always let them rear one..

I've also 8 spare hens, so want to fit that into a motivational system, which one still to decide, but I think it will need to be a made-to-measure one because of my unusual loft layout..

I've 3 x 2-yo hens which I'd like to go to the channel, and all of my yearlings I'd like to go to the coast ... think I'll have two 370 - 400 mile fed / snfc races for that.

I've also noted a weight-gain problem in the birds which I think is down to feeding probiotics and pellets, so I am experimenting just now to get the amount of feeding right, and I will be weighing them using a box and dual scales.

I will start a health regime around swab & droppings tests from January. I've a freebie voucher for the 1st one.

I plan to build a new loft for Cabin Boys racers and help him get started, finish the garden so Chickadee can sit and enjoy her fancy ones and I can get my kit of rollers out flying while I work outside my workshop :) :) :)

Well having now a team of yearlings and 2 year olds not trained, time to put the 'Blood' to the test For easier warm up races the South Rd. for harder, and locally more meriteous races the North Rd. Yearlings up to Thurso and Likewise  the two yearolds... but the 2 yr olds will go to the end of the line if any South Rd. racing is allowed.

Will have one round only in March (earlier than normal) ... then send all natural for the distance via choosing the Nest circle.

Have three or pairs of 'Stock birds' from AllBear / Frank Doo, and Barry Andrews.. which will provide 3 rounds all being well ... start them of course earlier. Have some y/b birds coming  hopefully from Sammy, so it may well be that the race team will be raising  the youngsters of The three named above.

The racers may - if proved upto it - breed a round of the all important 'Latebreds'.

These are the blue prints of the stool being set out .... but don't want more than 30 y/b's tops really. More than ample to fly two roads.

If more were needed, then obviosly the breeding is not up to scratch and I'll be looking around pronto to improve them.

I have a big team now, of nearly 40, so have quite a few to lose... Mr Basket will be given a free hand with fit, conditioned birds...

Pairing up stock birds on new years day to breed round of young birds to put on dark. The rest of young birds bred off racers will be on natural.

Flying all old birds on natural as want to try that before I try widowhood with being first OB season. All birds will rear a round of YB's to build up the bond between them before racing them on pot eggs.

Pairing up inland race team on weekend after blackpool weekend. Inland team all yearling cocks and hens that have raced all the yb programme aprt from one or two of the longer races.

Pairing up long distance team 14th febuary these are all hens raced back to stock cocks or unhanted cocks loned off other people as have tons of hens instead of cocks.

As yealings will take the year easy and concentrate on keeping them healthy. One of the fanciers I brought my birds off has given me a feeding system for the old birds. For the YB's I will stcik with the feeding system and health programme I used last year as they did well but cause they weren't on the dark tailed off at the longer racers.

Will keep an eye on the old birds and spend plenty of money on training to build condition up and write down what makes them tick i.e. driving 10 day old eggs etc.
