will this work ...and if not WHY ?

can healthy well conditioned  pigeons raise 3 youngsters per nest

rotating a group of three pairs of birds by fostering one egg from pair 3 to pairs 1 and 2 would enable pair 3 to produce youngsters while resting then when it comes to the second round choose pair 1 or 2 to foster out their eggs etc etc

When racing natural and the parents were in the basket - we stuck all the babies in the bowl of the one hen remaining - she wasn't raced at all - she was a good mum - but exhausted with one night - but did feed the lot - there were 5 of them and no room  for her in the bowl - they were about 10 days old - ok for one night but not a good idea for 3 long term me thinks

There is another thread on the Site on this subject, but I just can't find it.

From what I can recall, the member asked the same question, weighed up the advice given, then went ahead with it;

He later posted that the birds had reared 3 youngsters, but they were ??????  [not up to standard]

I remember the thread because mine was the last post and I remarked that the member had answered his own question : Yes it can be done, but the youngsters won't be finished to the same standard as a conventional nest of two.
