chasey123 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 they could cant u wire it at the front and back
Ed Bourque Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 all you need is hardwear wire cut it wider then the hole and tack it to the 2x4 the wire is stef enough to just rest against the top. hope this helps
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 You need to put 1/4 inch mesh behind those vents and any other openings - even if your pigeons can't get out - you'll get allsorts getting in - rats, mice etc - which will cause allsorts of health problems in your birds
FLAPPER 123 Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 rats???will rats climb up and get in at roof level?
THE FIFER Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 rats???will rats climb up and get in at roof level? if you have rats they will get in anyway, they will eat through timber, if u have them get rid.
FLAPPER 123 Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 never seen any (touch wood)just didnt realise they could climb up to roof hieght(if they can)ive read that a rat can chew their way in to a loft in one night.
chickadee Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 We have the gap at the top same as yours and we have screwed cable track to the soffet and on the inside we have rolled up 1/4 inch mesh to just over the diameter to the gap and these fit in snuggly and we can take them out if needed.

FLAPPER 123 Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 Yes got me worried now,can they get in my dowelled front,1 and half inch centres, dowell about 10 ml
Guest shadow Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 possibly but the main threat from dowelled fronts is wild birds sparrows etc when spring comes they will be in for down feathers for nesting
