Guest Vic Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 How many of us realise the srength of the above topic?
schouwman71 Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 on handling pigeons i like to feel well pronounced pectorial muscles on both the cocks and hens, after all this is what they use to push themselves forwards at speed, just like the sprinting athletes, big and full of muscle.( i dont mean massive pigeons).
Guest IB Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I have problems with some descriptions of where these muscles lie, one account recently referred to the chest? Always thought of the pigeon's chest as the crop area (pigeon-chested). My anatomy may be wrong and this isn't the bird's chest. Also thought these flight muscles were anchored at one end to the keel, and they are the 'inflated tubes' that you can feel lying along each side of the keel?
jimmy white Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 the pectorial muscle is the strongest muscle on a pigeon,,and the biggest
