Guest chrisss Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 has any one tried their £99.00 for 6 offer [regardless of strain] how did it go for you
frank-123 Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 some people win with them most dont but thats the gamble you take
superstar Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 You want anything decent from masserella's you will need to pay into 3 figures.
Guest shadow Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 i have bought them and won with them
Guest chrisss Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 the reason for asking is that with only 5 pairs of "breeders" and a very small budget to bump the numbers up a bit i might have to go to them and i need to know if on average is it worth it
just ask me Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 have never used louella birds but if u got another 5 pairs off mates birds that they mightn't be using and float the eggs this is what i done and u can give birds back at end of breeding and u will have a family of birds that u have and sort out quicker what doing the business for u
frank-123 Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 the reason for asking is that with only 5 pairs of "breeders" and a very small budget to bump the numbers up a bit i might have to go to them and i need to know if on average is it worth it you could buy a lot more expensive and they would still be crap a gamble whatever you buy know one guy in my club 5 from the 6 were winners as i said before i have not been lucky or louella pigeons have been unlucky getting me
Guest chrisss Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 tried asking mate but having just joined the club most people assume that you know jack about pigeons [i have had birds since 2001 then in 2002 by daughter died which stopped me until now]so they won't lend out birds to what they think is a new starter [which in racing terms i am] also most guys breed from everything they own and will not help out anyone because at the end of the day they are flying against you [which gives me a huge will to win!!!!!] :K) :K) :K) :K) :K) :K) :K)
just ask me Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 that a real pity man just an idea honestly ive no birds to help u out as I'm only into birds after a break my self only back 3 years and i keep noting i dont want at end of season if u said where abouts u are some pll here might be able to help u out come on lads this one seems genuine sorry i couldn't help u
Guest chrisss Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 cheers mate iam not on the "ponce"here just after some advice [one way or the other I WILL RACE YOUNG BIRDS THIS YEAR] and if that means walking around my local town centre with a loaf of bread looking for this years team then [providing no one from the local club is looking i will do it
jimmy white Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 has any one tried their £99.00 for 6 offer [regardless of strain] how did it go for you certainly worth a bash,,,,it would nearly cost you that much to rear them up..and less work ive won with them b4
just ask me Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 that the spirit and dont let them beat u down i pm u a message
Guest chrisss Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 that the spirit and dont let them beat u down i pm u a message cheers mate if you had any idea what i have had to do to get this far your eyes would water [but thats the same for a lot of fanciers nowdays :K) :K) :K) :K)
just ask me Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 well lets just say u have a club im even finding it hard to get my birds marked have had everything thrown at me
Guest chrisss Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 i don't know but i would assume that before your 3 year break your birds were a threat to some of the other club members [lets face it that can happen]so now they are a bit worried that maybe the "big fish in a little pond" flyers ie local club champ might be getting multilated again [no offence to the winners out there one of these days i intend to be one of you] :D :D :D :D

You were obviously happy enough to have bought again though
Guest j.bamling Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Every Bird we have bought from Louella has bred winners inc a 1st Combine -We have not had that many off them over the years but they have done well ... mind you i would not buy any now for a few reasons .. but £99 for 6 is a bargin its impossible to breed them for this price !!
schouwman71 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 with 5 pairs of stock birds,2 rounds breed you 20 youngsters, you would do more winning with 20 quality youngsters bred by yourself and also testing your own stock out would be just has good or even better.but louella i have had some fantastic pigeons from them over the years.
steve d Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 I brought 18 dutch jansens last season at the end of may, they took to the skies more or less straight away, I had them coming from 6 miles 5 weeks later and I got them to our first young bird race at 85 miles. I only finished with 3 of them probably might fault for rushing them but 2 out the 3 won, they have moulted out into nice birds.

Guest chrisss Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 ;Dgood post Chris ,if you look after (keep em healthy) you should do ok with the youngbirds you breed this time. keep us posted will be interested to see how you do . regards andy since you gifted me 90% of my birds mate you will be the first to know [maybe i can return the favour with some ybs off my winners!!!!!] :D :D :D
murphy Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 We have had some good birds from louella and if you get 1 decent one out of the six you have done ok for £99.
