Guest WINGS 04
DO YOU THINK THE EAST COST CLUB WILL LET MEMBERS OF THE MIDLANDS FED FLY WITH THEM FROM THE EAST OR WILL THIS BE TO MUCH OVER FLY FOR THEM
Whats it called Cumbernauld
That be very much up to them. The reason we use velocity is in order to include the distances of each loft in the calculation of yards per min. IN national races this will be 100 of miles in difference. In Scotland we all know Annan does well in these races, however they are not unbeatable as history will show you. thus it is not just fanciers from that area that compete In shorter races this is courses of greater importance as is the provaling wind direction. it maybe worth arguing that not to include wind direction and wind speed in calculating the result may be wrong. You may then conclue from this, and agree or disagree not always the best performance wins the race Taking all this into account, we should be of mind to race against all comers. The wind direction and its strengths will change as will the results. Sure we can think of birds that was off the result, but when you examine its performance thats what tells the true story. A good example of this maybe if you could choce a pigeon from the first 50 in a national we would very often not necessarily pick the winner ? yeah

Whats it called Cumbernauld
Apart from historical reasons why are feds not more in line with local gov regions. How many lofts for instance in the Midland fed, are geographically in North or south Lanarkshire. Talk of secret meetings on breakaway feds on one hand, and arguments about east or west on the other. surley we would be better securing our sport for many years to come, by whole sale amalgamation. This fed could be broken into sections and clubs as appropriate.Get away from perocial inward thinking and embrace our fellow fanciers fron just along the road any support for this or is it to late? rednyellow
im afraid amalgamation is a no no with current trends, fanciers seem all too happy to form smaller feds with the first signs of any probs, maybe with lanarkshire and midland going the same route starting in the dreaded solway we could join up sharing the costs?
