Hi

A elderly fancier friend has asked me about loft floor grills from Red Star Lofts

he said they are the ideal size for his loft but can anybody who uses them comment on any aspects , durability etc

i have had them in my loft for the past three seasons and they are a great benefit to me in the winter when its to dark to clean them out ,they are ideal things to use and keep their feet clean but its best to draw your brush across them daily as i feel the droppings stick to them and in my case can build up a bit, wouldnt use any type of hopper system on them as to much feeding gets lost ,have also found its time consumming lifting them and then putting them back down ,in my case better used for winter as i am going back to the scrapper for the summer months ,hope this helps ;)

what do you get up to in the scrapper sammy if its just the summer time you use it ,is it a outside shithouse

hi sammy thinking of using something like that for roundabout hens   do you think they would go down to nest on them cheers steven

I use grills but not from RSL and the widow hens will lay on then Found that a cargo net (this is a net that you see covering skips ) about 18in of the floor does the trick I use picture hooks to hang up the net
