i'm ets neutral ( bit anti ).  but is there a model on the market which you can pre-select the number of birds you wish to clock on raceday? this is so i could go to work and not let on that half my birds arrive home mid-afternoon still eating chips and 'gasping for a fag'!

Good question !!!!!!! in my view, I also would like to know the answer to this one. For what I have seen, if one does not wish other members to know how your birds come home etc, you just disconnect the clock from the power source.

I gather from your comments above  ;D ;D ;D your birds are somewhat different from most flyers etc  :D :D :D because if one believes ?????? a fellow pigeon flyer on race day  :P :P :P they usually all come home together, one could say.

Enjoy.

ERM....AH.....see what you mean....erm...i actually left out 'occasionally' from my last post ..as in 'occasionally..birds...mid afternoon...chips..fags..etc'  i'm actually wondering how i can rig my 6ft sputnik for ets,  i need this to stop my birds fighting to get in the loft. i do hope east midlands resolution for unlimited pads is passed as i need about 26. seriouslly why can't ets manufacturers build in this feature (pre-set no. to be clocked) they can time 20 birds a second but my feature would persuade me and perhaps a lot more. come on ets makers build it in and i'll buy it!

Really cant see that it,s a problem other fanciers seeing what time your late comers arrive but each to his own,is there not someone at home that could just switch off the power to the clock say after the first 10 have arrived,I cant really see a company putting this facility into the system,as for your sputnik what i did was to put a piece of plywood inside the trap the same length as the landing board, underneath this fix some 1x1inch wood with another piece of ply fixed to that to form a slot, this needs to be the size of the ETS pad or pads if you have UNIKON,you then can cover up the holes on the sputnick that you dont want to use,on the back of the sputnick fit bob wires to stop birds that are inside the loft flying up into the trap.

think you've taken my posts a little to seriously p.m. i havn't really got a six foot sputnik and some of the other stuff is 'toungue in cheek'. pulling the power on an ets to stop it is ,to me,is like having to 'stop a luxery car by stalling it on the handbrake' .i still think this feature would have good market appeal and any manufacturer that tried it would outdo the competition in this very competitive market.a clock gives you a choice on how many you clock why can't ets?

Im not anti ets but it seems the rules that we are goverened by are giving the ets an unfair advantage most who are staying with a normal clock couldnt time in more than probably 20 birds (not that many of us would want to bother timing in that amount of birds anyway) unless you have a paloma so why not bring the clock rules into line with the ets rules allowing you to have more than one clock you are allowed to use more than one pad so you can have them on two lofts if you are sending birds from different lofts to one race so why not be allowed to have more than one clock set

Rose - in the NEHU it was passed along with ETS that you could have more than one manual clock set - you can also use modified clocks to clock in without a thimble (but the clocks HAVE to be modified)

how can you time in without a thimble susan and how are they modified to suit this thats just like timing an ordinary rubber in to the clock you used to get disqualified if your rubber fell out of the open ended one or had it upside down with the open end up thats the same as what your talking about is it not

There was a modified T3 that I saw - they have silver coloured flaps on them to stop the rubbers getting stuck anywhere

there is also a benzing that is out (an old one) that had these flaps fitted as standard ( I heard a few in the meeting say they had one in the garage / shed)

On the original question: you don't switch off, you simply remove the pocket clock from the loft clock. The loft clock continues to record arrivals, nobody but yourself will see the times unless you put the pocket clock back in.

On the use of rubbers without thimbles:  Some time ago now, but posted about an RPRA announcement in BHW about 'T3 Flapper clocks' from the continent which were not authorised for use in UK at that time. These clocks were specially designed to be used with a rubber without a thimble. Think common sense prevails at last, had also posted would be a simple way (modifications?) to save manual clockers around 5 seconds, and cancel out at least one advantage ets has over manual clocking.

The approved modifiers are Linells ( :-/) £57 + postage for T3's - it would cost less if it goes for a service at the same time

We're still in the dark ages with an STB  ;D (which we got for nothing  ;D)
