carl Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I have a question which i asked mark palmer of bricon and didnt get a good enough answer,we fly to allotment and theres no power,so how do we power a dos printer to get a race sheet at the time of basketing, mark said put the birds through then take the printer to the club house and then print the race sheets of,this wont work as any mistakes with race sheets and birds will have already gone, also our race sheets go to fed straight after birds are picked up with transporter..hope im making sence here carl
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Carl. Are you saying that you basket the birds on the allotments.
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 you need a generator one of the demos we've been to said they can be bought from Maplins for about £60 wealso basket on allotments except for combine races
THE FIFER Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 dont think you can get 12 volt printers, there is a gadget you can convert 12 volts to 240
carl Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 can you not use a battery to power it??? no cant power a dos printer with a battery
carl Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 Carl. Are you saying that you basket the birds on the allotments. yes we basket the bird on our allotments, then to the club later to bat the clocks
carl Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 dont think you can get 12 volt printers, there is a gadget you can convert 12 volts to 240 hi fifer the gadget is a transformer they wont power a 240 volt printer from a 12volt battery for long thats for sure, if i now need a genorator this is going to be hard for me as not many going for ets in my club just me and a few others intrested at the moment.. cheers
Guest Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 If you can have a car/van parked nearby you can run invertor from vehicle therefore also keeping battery on vehicle charged at same time obviously you will need to run engine
carl Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 If you can have a car/van parked nearby you can run invertor from vehicle therefore also keeping battery on vehicle charged at same time obviously you will need to run engine no cars near our basket shed tony

Guest j v ward Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 new rule 7/36 ets must be held under lock and key at organisation or appproved premises to beaccessedby two officials
Guest spin cycle Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 small generator probably best. i've tried inverters (for work) and not had any luck. mind you they were cheap but for cost of better one you can buy little generator
carl Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 [/img] if there is only a few why not just take the clocks home and take the printouts, hi fifer because when we put birds through at basket shed the sheets must be signed by 3 people then and there,if i have to go home or wait for my sheet, there could be mistakes or a fault im thinking twice about this now
