Guest IB Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Interestingly, there was a programme on BBC2 Scotland 7.30pm tonight about Biofuel. One UK farmer has abandoned keeping a field 'natural' for wildlife conservation and getting paid for that, in favour of growing oilseed rape for the biofuel market, there's more dosh in that. Also his wheat crop is going there too because he gets more money for it there than from the food industry. Greenpeace spokesman said 1 tankful of biofuel for 1 car = 1 years bread supply for one family. Government are apparently having a rethink. Simple question really, which is more important, feeding folk or running green cars?
DOVEScot Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Government are apparently having a rethink. Simple question really, which is more important, feeding folk or running green cars? Both, if we don't feed folk we won't need any cars, if we don't cut back on green house gases then we won't have any folk to drive them either :-/

ticeye Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I think young bird numbers will be down for most of us this year ( at least it will make selection a bit keener ) fanciers will be more selective in their breeding programe and rear less young birds so it may result in healthier birds in the loft as they will have more space and fresh air and lead to less losses in racing the feds will then have to put up the cost per crate to cover the drop in birdage it is going to be a very expensive hobby in the furture
