Pompey Mick Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 When using FSS in conjunction with Unikon in a two race scenario, can one race be downloaded to the race results program if the other race is still active, either held over or a longer distance?

Hi When you say in conjunction with Unikon ? We only use FSS and you can run 2/3/4 races at the same time a week apart We do not have Unikon software installed in our computer Homer 49
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I was wondering why you would need to have a separate result programme when Unikon will know work out the result if your club is all Unikon, would imagine running the two could cause problems.
pjc Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 thr fSS will only work with unikon i beleive at the moment. The reason for using in conjunction with fss is that fss will do all your point and averages etc, does unikon? Phil

Phil Cheers for that Phil, guessed there must be a valid reason, pretty certain Unikon doesn,t work out ave.etc.I feel another update coming on.LOL.
pjc Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 We havn't got ets yet Tony, but do you not reset the master each week? If this is the case then the system wouldn't store all the previous weeks race data and I can't see why it would need to. Phil
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Yes we do have to set the time each week.with Unikon its in the base station and with Bricon we connect a radio controlled clock to the base station to set the time. The data from the previous race in the Bricon clock as to be cleared so that you can basket for thr next race, unless one race was still running, not to sure with the Unikon wether its cleared automatically from the pocket clock or wether you could retrieve it at a later date.
HOMER49 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Hi With Unikon a radio clock can be purchased Unikon has a facility to give you a part run of or full run off This is excellent for 2 or 3 day races If you time a bird on the day from a distance race you can take your clock for a part run off this bird is now verified Take your clock back to the loft and time more pigeons A full run off is not cleared of the pocket clock until its returned to your loft clock Cheers Homer 49

Pompey Mick Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 I have purchased FSS because of averages and after a couple of minor problems with the colours and address all seems well.(You must use the FSS colour menu) Back to my question. As you have more experience with FSS and Unikon in Scotland can you download data to the FSS race programme while there is another active race in the clock. I.e. the Club race has finished whilst the National race is heldover. It tells you in the handbook that you cannot access the clock via a computer whilst it is in race mode, I dont know whether this applies when you have multiple races and need to access one of them for race result purposes. Any Club encountered this possible problem?
