Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Hope the weather clears ok,wish all midland Fed members all the best. May get a race later this afternoon. cheers
Darnaway Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Glasgow Fed Liberated at 1545 with excellent returns therefore once again well done to our Race Controller, that is total control in my opinion. Our Race controller uses "total control" especially when on occassions he decided for us not to basket on a Friday but delays it for 24hrs due to the predicted forecast and obviously for the genuine welfare of the birds. Well done again

Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Well done mate. When these guys get it wrong most have plenty to say, however when they get it right few have anything to comment. Changing for the good of the birds the day of the basketing,is also a good thing. Being more adaptable is the way forward. We do it this way cause its always been done this way should be no longer acceptable. Well done the Glesga Fed

Well done again North West and Central Feds have had a delayed basketing arrangement since at least 2001. Their birds were at home in the loft while others were in the transporters. I notice that it is only in the last couple of years that the other Scottish Feds have adopted this practice, and only in the last year that some Feds south of the border have adopted it. My guess is that the big National clubs will need to look at it too; we had 2 consecutive weekends of bad weather where channel birds were still basketed on the Wednesday. Don't think there is any point in doing that when you know chances of a race on Friday and Saturday are slim & zilch.
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 IB your spot on mate, birds must come first
