Kind Regards. Before replacing the pigeons you have it's worth asking yourself if you are doing something wrong. For example is the loft suitable to allow the birds to come into form,do you have a cat or mouse problem. I am not trying to be cheeky but what I am saying is that you pay good money for new stock and the environment is not right then you will have wasted your money. I hope you follow my logic
pearse1888 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 paul there is no best pigeon strain that is the best there are lots of strains. its to do with the way you feed and if they are happy in there loft in my case for alot of years i had decent pigeons but i wasnt getting results until i did alot of reading and trying new systems and new feeding til i started getting results .. i use small seeds before racing. and make sure when birds are young to get them drinking in the pannier this is crucial .. if you have done this and worked hard with the birds and still no results well i would look around and buy off people who have got good results and will not rip you off .. stay clear from stud farms !!
paddymac Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Is where some of the paniers have gone ;D ;D ;D ;D

Pretty much the truth there as I see it. System / management first, second and last. Natrix won fro 700 miles and 50 miles. Sellers / Fanciers can sell themselves, it's the birds! So what they excell at distance wise becomes known as that 'Distance' birds.
