ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 and as auctioner is rpra member he has broken said rule and is accountable to rpra as he is for evey auction he holds were it be for profit or sale on behalf of seller or bereavement auction and under rules im sure should inform rpra of sale or disposal
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 R.P.R.A rule 135 states that if a reserve is placed on a lot it must be listed in the auction, it is not upto the owner to decied after the bidding as the bird went over the starting bid £50 reserve, it should have been sold to oldyellow, i saw at the end of sale that he had the final bid. have quoted this rule and ungentlemanly conduct to GM i await his response
Roland Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Feel for you Mark.... Wonder if it wa an 'ole Pals' act! Not knowing of course, but be my guess. Further we all know of the tricks of the trade in promoting false bids etc. and also hammer down wuickly.... or just as has happened to you. So, so sorry for you matey, but day's end only redress open to you will be name and shame, but he / and probably the new owner won't give a fickled rats *expletive removed*.
superstar Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I wonder what his path of action is if you had bought the bird and failed to pay? I expect you would have heard from the union then!
jimmy white Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Reply from GM Dear Mark, I understand your frustration. If you consider that you have a case under the Rules (on the Website) I suggest that you raise this with your Club. Until then, it remains a commercial arrangement. As you know, a huge number of pigeons are bought and sold each year and the RPRA does not have the resources (or authority) to police this activity or to resolve disputes. There are alternate avenues to do this (eg trading standards and CAB). I hope that this helps David Bills General Manager The Royal Pigeon Racing Association The Reddings near Cheltenham Glos GL51 6RN i can well understand the gen manager david mills,s letter and to a certain degree i can agree ,, but in saying that, "they cannot police these activities," i can understand but im quite sure they are there to" resolve disputes" which to me , this is a case of ?
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I wonder what his path of action is if you had bought the bird and failed to pay? I expect you would have heard from the union then! oh without a sadow ad you would be suspended for ungentaly conduct

Guest peter.j Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 mark the response you got off the rpra theoretically means, anybody who gets a stray in can keep it as if i get your bird and refuse to give it back is that not a private dispute between 2 parties and therefore also not the rpras problem a clear case of double standards maybe you should start writing for the weeklys and you to can get away with murder....jmho pete
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 well i have been busy seeing to my birds and shopping , however i have just recieved an email from consumer direct and lodged the complaint with them ( this is the legal matter him been a trader ) all filled out and done oh happy days
Guest Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Well done Mark, I hope you get the victory you deserve. I wouldnt use that bloke or his site if he paid me too! Good luck lad!
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 im only doing what is just and right these people do nothing for the sport just bring it in to ill repute , and should do the sport a big service and leave
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 talking of peaple to be got rid of in sport was just reading europa loft report and picked up another book and read a letter from maty he replyed to someones letter saying they made comments on site about lib of birds and was talking rubbish as when birds were let go noone was at one loft race end strange thought him and mate said there were 450 peaple watched lib and agreed it was great cant even tell truth between them
Roland Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Go for Broke Mark. I would. As for that arrogant a**ehole, I wouldn't pee in his ear if his brain was on fire! He just makes it up to suit him and his cronies, always has and no doubt will do. Bet the bird went to an 'Mate'[ A fellow with means, as he only ever promotes those with means. A few 'Bob' and Robert's your mothers brother as far as he is concern. Thinks the 'Grass Rootes' are only there to support the 'Haves'. Mind, believe it or not, I don't particular care for the crud. But then who...
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 anyway pened letter to ask him how can you both be telling truth whan you both give deffrent storys see if its answered in rp no point in bhw they wont print it
pjc Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 If Mark needs financial help to resolve this issue would this be a good use of the forum fund? I think the majority of the members are in support of action! Phil
jimmy_bulger Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 dont think it would be wise to get pigeon basics involved in a legal dispute . but anyone who would wish to donate to marks predicament could do so.
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 im sure i can manage any legal disputes but the offer was very flattering and much appreciated , the C.A.B use consumer direct and i have passed all the information regarding the sale now to them i will continue to persue via R.P.R.A and other bodies , when i get a concusion im happy with then this mater will be over , perhaps this is a chance of changing rules regarding pigeon Auctions and if vendor / auctioneer , renages on a sale then the birds ring be defaulted from ownership
Chairman Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 WELL WHAT DID YOU HONESTLY EXPECT? they reacted just as you expected. We should have appointed Victor Meldrew as General Manager at least when he cocked up you'd get "I just can't believe it" and we would get a few laughs along the way. But in reality all the blame lies with those that appointed them and at least were not at fault because as usual we did not get a say in the matter. In the words of President Obama "Change has come" time to build those bridges, well we cant build our bridges because they're still a burning inferno.
