jimmy white Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 GOING BACK THESE POSTS, I CANNOT IMAGINE ANY ONE PUTTING REMARKS IN LIKE BENS, IF YOU LOOKED IN TO ANDYS RESULTS, I THINK "MEDIOCRE" WOULD BE AN INSULT. THIS MAN HAS FLOWN THE BEST, IN THE HIGHEST CLASS COMPETITION, AND NOT JUST ONCE OR TWICE, HES WON AT THE" HIGHEST LEVEL" FROM 60 TO 560 MILES,,, REGULARLY. FAIRS FAIR. NO MEAN FEAT.
schouwman71 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Dave downing in suffolk flies the van reets from dean pallat and has topped the fed by as much as 10 minutes. i think the van reets are all round good birds.

Guest bristolkev Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 the best van reets i had came from jimmy dickens ie the terror, charity cock, charity hen, tips and young tips
gangster Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 i was at berts the week he brought his 1st v reets in 2 the uk , there are a few top guys who flew them very well and i think winners came from all of there lofts....the later 1s if im correct were of sootjen blood so of a different type/....
frank-123 Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 heh gangster have you been in every loft in the north of england you know everybody ;D
Roland Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Obviously one would say Dean Pallet takes all the beating. He who was the first - outside perhap a give pair to Dave Allen - to bring in, and he brought big! Devasted everyone of course when he set up again and flew them. (His Leon Boer were fantastic) But again, a lot, I believe personally, is down to the fancier and how good he is, who he flies against and of course their' Loft position.
terry mccarthy Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 i got them all here hession pallat mardon downing beardsmore staf van reet staffords dave allen j millers k arnold brown nee and sons ive blendid them all together on a week to week basis found nothing to beat them
terry mccarthy Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 vanreets do 500 miles with ease its the way u feed them 3 years ago i went to thurso 516 miles about 50 odd birds in club i took the first 11 had about 6 in combine result some well up in result aswell no other birds clocked in race time in club other clubs were still being won the hext day in the afternoon birds went bk year after ended up 9th open if i can remember right. this year although a touch behind i sent 26 to thurso having 16 on day rest next morning bar 2 never seen them since yet they flew it 6 times between themselves
Merlin Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Van Reets are obviously top class lines, how much of this is down to the fanciers who brought in these originals and cultivated them,Hession,Mardon, Pallett, and many others, remembering these were top flyers, before acquiring Van Reets, would they have stood the test of time,if acquired by Joe Bloggs etc, capabilities of the birds are often due to fanciers input, this also answers the birds for distance conundrum,Van Reets winning at 500/560 miles,a good bird, proper management is capable of winning at any distance. Good enjoyable post lads keep it going.
Ronnie Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Well i just bought two pair of Louella's One pair are Inbred to the Admiral and the other pair are bred back to blue daniella .I didnt know to much about these birds but heard they where mainly for sprint inland.I bought them mainly to build a team to compete against the club and fed on the Inland. But after reading the comments on here i may be trying a few on the water when i get the chance .Managed to get one late bred of them this year and must say if he fly's as well as he look's i will be Happy.

terry mccarthy Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 i remember a few years ago i had this little blue cock bird i sent him to peterborough only 81 miles to me and he topped it i carried on sending him he was there most weeks then thurso came along i thought shall i send him or not so i decided to send him it turned out a awfull race held in the crate for something like 7 nights he still came home to top club be well up in fed and combine but after that was never the same bird
