Cheers Sammy, but it is Billy that has got the heart of gold

I went and fed the birds tonight and locked them up, puting them in the baskets first thing tomorrow, hope the weather holds as he is really looking forward to it, we could see the ski slope all lit up tonight at visiting time, hope to release them about lunch time, I am going to phone him just before I release them so he has the binoculars ready, I think he has the whole ward keyed up for the release ;D ;D ;D

Billy got out today for some reason, sad thing is he is not able to cope, a week at the most and I think he will be back in. Although he has put on some weight he is still only 5st 9lb at 5' 4" :(

Hi DOVEScot can Billy not get a carer ,alcoholics and drug addicts (young men and women) can get one,  why not Billy???????????????

No, he is entitled to no help as cancer is not counted as a disability it seems, also he in on incapacity benefit which does not count in qualifying for other benefits:-/

I have got McMillan cancer trust coming to interview him on Monday to see if they can help, lets hope they can.

It's absolutely shocking when you think of all the help dished out to all from the "EEC" countries and we cannot help one of our own >:( >:( >:(

The local authorities have been great apart from the fact that I can report and help him in anyway but cannot deal with anything for him due to confidentiality rules, fine just now as he is back out the hospital, but a pain when he goes back in   :-/

Trouble with the NHS is they need the beds for worse cases so as soon as Billy is no longer in need of medical supervision they send him home, then he cannot cope and deteriates and then needs medical attention he goes back in.

I am hoping McMillan take him in as a convelesance patient so he can get his wieght and strength back up.

Anyway we are getting there and he is coping with our help, taking his birds out for short tosses when the weather permits, the man is happy  ;D ;D ;D

We had to get Billy re admitted to hospital today, in fact Carol thought he was a gonner at one stage when he could not get a breath.

What a turn around from yesterday, we had him out for the day and let him toss his birds, cup of tea at the garden centre and left him watching the Rangers game.
