Guest asha Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Tells you there`s a problem, paratyphusor some weakness, very heavy protein feeding during the moult can show bloodquills in weak birds, thats for sure, put a blackstar against offenders, check following season, see what you find out.
Brian Smith Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Don't use any cod liver oil,or cod liver oil based products we had a big problem with blood quills and Rod Adams put us straight on the cause.

I wouldn't have thought cod liver oil was the cause - many people including myself use cod liver oil and don't have problems with blood quills
Brian Smith Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Talk to Rod Adams and he will tell you all about the problems with cod liver oil, we used it for years before we had any trouble.
