PATTY BHOY Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Do the members think that American pigeons could do the business in Scottish pigeon racing.short, middle, long distance.
micko and jack Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 why not ???????? the birds are only as good as the person looking after and training them just my thoughts but then again we only have fantails and i dont think any american fantails could beat Jacks hahahaha
b.massey Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 See no reason why not. Think if looked/trained well enough then see no reason to think they cant
OLDYELLOW Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Good pigeons will do well where ever they go
DOVEScot Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Why not, at the end of the day there will be winning strains, bloodlines and fanciers that do the very same as here in the UK, America is so vast they will have pigeons that cope with distance, sprint and various climate conditions although theirs is a lot more regular :-/
Blue Chequer Pied Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 It would all depend on who the fancier was that was racing them
Guest Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Do the members think that American pigeons could do the business in Scottish pigeon racing.short, middle, long distance. :Pin all honesty , if i were you ,id go for Scottish pigeons at whatever distance applicable , more ready to hand than American birds anyway ???? andy.
Tony C Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 PATTY BHOY if your interested in American pigeons and the way to race them go to this link http://www.pigeonradio.com/pr/ on the left you'll see archives of previous broadcasts. Perhaps you will be better able to judge yourself hearing it from the horses mouth so to speak. For what my opinion is worth many Americans go more for pedigree pigeons than performance pigeons, many strains are kept pure and are in the main Belg/Dutch imports.
DeDarren Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 John Harwood (or is it Henwood?) who writes for the BHW, races the American Pete Pobors family into Scotland successfully doesn't he?
