Roland Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Sorry, but you know I had a pigeon drop in just a few days ago. Now you are not the wife, so no need to lie to you! Trouble is, and it is great condition. It looks more than fine, and has dilly dallied around here for a week or two. Now here is the reality! Do I send it - at costs - up the road to get shot off? Do I, which is my normal roote, report it! May I asked here what the owner will thnk? It has an old crumble rubber - no long there because I disgarded it! Will he say 'neck it' as he lost it ..... yonks ago.? Will he think I am coming it? I seldom ever neck my own birds, so won't anybodies elses and that's the fact! So will he want it back? Do I want it? Yes I know neck it as it is no good to me, or him, and never say a word! What I hope is that it will pi** off! Don't need it hanging around and that's for sure... Do I put it's ring number up on here to see who owns it? Itr is a loverly bird as are all Birds after the moult. Do I want it? No, will he? doubt it? so just what am I,or a fancier supposed to do?
ChrisMaidment08 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 you if told to neck it say thanks you send for it or sorry mate you bred it you raced it send for it takeing it up road is just givening someone else problem leaving it get rest food useualy sends it home if not then tell them to send for it ;)
pjc Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 if i get a stray in I try and find out where its from, if i can will get it tossed in that area or on line of flight once fit. If not will ring the owner but do get fed up with all the sob stories. My neighbour mind you doesn't, he never even knows if he's got a stray in the loft until i go arround, see something in the perch and ask "whats that?", and normally get answer "I don't Know!". Takes all sorts but all birds make mistakes even the best birds and should be given a chance! Phil
grizzal Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Put its number up Roland, the owner may well what it back. I think we have all lost birds we wish would turn up. all the best
