Roland Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 It's a joke whichever way you call it! Tis again that selfish boon that will take another bite, another toll of the fanciers. Never mind what thay call it, time they grew up and settled ego's in the sez pool where they belong, and member vote them out of offece. BUT they won't, and down the line away more will get dispondent and leave. National Jokers may be a more apt name. The real test in Wales, and merit earners, are those great flyers that fly the Thurso's and Lerwicks. Real fanciers understand and rspect them! Even 50 odd from France and Spain etc can't raises as much merit. BUT.... seekers of undeserved glories clamber that way. Yes good birds ... many lost on a hard day too unfortunately, But if in say Cardiff I'd much rather win Lerwick than Saints any day. They are hard races, and only proven families fly them regularly, so you know the fancier has put time, efort and graft into these birds, and finish up being the goods.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 well said roland wellsaid the creamof the fancey in wales will walk the rest will follow to win nat with no birds

Guest neil Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 this is no small time tantrum by the w n r f members but a real move forward and it will go upwards and onwards and will have as big a birdage as some of the previous mentioned clubs. not only will this be a fairer line making winning a national in north wales a greater performance than at present as these birds will be flying every yard and prevailing winds the same for all(let the good fliers of the north compete and this will calm the critics} another advantage will be the possibility of moving even further even out to 650mls (700+ for the north) i am not a member of w n r f but the r.valley so not flying the flag for them but from a fanciers position i think it has merit. my only hope is this a national is run by the national commitee and not a subsidery of the w,n,r,f neil

Guest neil Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 P S if they are looking for a race controller Chris Butler of our fed has been outstanding with the r.valley and would be an asset(as long as he continues with our fed as well) neil

Guest Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 well chris i dont know where your source heard this but i didnt see or hear anyone from sedbury there...as usual people on the outside looking in giving out wrong info.....i was there and it went well.....and a few surprises ...the new national is here to stay hopefully and like any new venture it will be slammed b4 given a chance. there was fanciers from west wales mid wales and south wales..and from what i heard could turn out to be good birdage. members outside the welsh north road was there too. maybe tom could put you in the picture better than me. this is a new route , mainly south then going south east...with the furthest race of 575 mls... Slammed damn right, you have a national club, why are you creating a new one, you want to change route propose it in the current club, ...... fragmenting the sport again, or is it once again about personalities????????????????

Thurso was 495 to the top end of the valley at Merthyr and 590 to Lerwick

Now unless you have had an influx of fanciers from Mid Wales the radius might just as well be just North of the heads of the Valley Road. 20 years ago the Most northerly club was Talgarth which included a very good fancier Colin Hawker, does this club still exist. No North Wales fanciers allowed from what I read above. Were they in the proper National??
ChrisMaidment08 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 albear mate you can talk as much sense as you like but i will tell you its like talking to brick wall been there done it got mad waste time this is purely done to try and take members from combine because the fed were told to toe the line they did not now its this rubbish and i beleave it will go wrong big time but their are enough gullable fanciers to follow the few and say yes great idea as usual but when it goes wrong its told you it would so they are going to fly 570odd miles big deal for one race? we flew pau 580odd to me lerwick 600to me but let me let you into secret half the ones in this nat wont fly more than350 as they dont now so why will they this year take strapper were is the furthest you flew paul 400. and will you fly all the nat races to 600miles bet not cos you dont fly nat now apart from ram maid and liage or do you and this is only exsample lots members want but never fly and paul you know that as i doits follow the leader but one day the leader wont be there and you will all be lost
Roland Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Just picking up on one or two points being made 'Pro' and 'Pigeon Holing' them I believe one very -- but sad point was - 'Prevailing Winds' and Easier Racing'. You will never gret merit, deserved or otherwise. You need challenging race points to hone out and get a good decent family of birds etc. So that in it's self has two demeaning knock on effects for starter. Well that also just about somes up the other part ... one part being Shifting goal post, ego's. and well does need one go on.
Roland Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Seems Maidmarrion has got the bit between her teeth and crowing some Sound reasoning. Good pun that eh! ;D ;D
ChrisMaidment08 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 roland im stunned ;D ;D ;Dsome of us get lot of top flyers in for cups tea some of them multi nat winners so some of us get to know things others dont yet they seek to think im not senseable wrong sad fact but life i love it give it few months and see how many top flyers outside of that fed fly the nat with them then the truth will be seen cos its all about power not fanciers and as for north wales rhadyer is not that far north is it
Guest Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Chris how many fanciers will you find between the top end of the valleys and Rhyader, maybe a handfull probably zilch.
