Wanted to clarify that the part that Ron flew was in deed classed as UK. Nothing more, nor less.

Yes, and as a loft manager he had also the knowledge imparted - whether any one wants to agree or disagree - which must have added a string or two to his bow.... Or are we to believe that Mr Fletcher was an also ran that never started. Hence, like al good pupils etc. the scholar turns out to better the master. That is the sign of a wise and clever pupil, where ever  or how he learnt.

So I say again, he was a first class manager before being a world class flyer in his own right. So can't see where ant contention can be caused by my original post,as it only hieghtened what is factual.

I dont think Mr Fletcher  was much of a Master when his previous loft manger didnt win to many Opens with the advice Mr Fletcher give him do you? Mr Fletcher was the buyer never the racer he had a set up that was second to none in Europe its just unfortunate its not there for all to see today. Think about it Roland if it was so easy just to listen to advice from the Master and put it into practice what he tells you he could have got anyone to do it, but no he went looking for the best when the rest couldnt get the results Mr Fletcher was looking for  and thats why Ron Williamson was ask to come to Oakfield Lofts and put its name on the map.

its a good thread vinnie but you would have to break it down to north south east and west of all areas as loft location plays a very big part in all races ,but to me overall results, its got to be ron williamson  bondhill ,the birdage is there, he wins at all distances , 1st class all round fancier,only my opinion

Think Ron Williamson has to be right up with the best also John Hodgson, and Frank Tasker.

Yes Stuart ,Ron Williamson seems to be the man.But at the end of the day its all about the fanciers opinions.Maybee we should have a uk top ten.

Ulsterloft, yes I get your drift, and very much truth too. Was no doubt a bit Ron was able to try at anothers expence... much which obviously paid off. Further he no doubt also had many doors open, which he later was welcome.

The adage is though that A wiseman learns by others mistakes.... a fool by his own.

Hence I say that Ron was astute enough to be the former, to good advantage. Must have seen and noted much.
