jimmy white Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 They are getting popular now, just found this picture of chicks in a nest box built for them in manchester. this is what annoys me, the rspb putting up nest boxes for them all over,, this is not natural breeding ,, they seem to be making a hobby out of breeding them :-/
Tony C Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 this is what annoys me, the rspb putting up nest boxes for them all over,, this is not natural breeding ,, they seem to be making a hobby out of breeding them :-/ Jimmy here in Essex were just above sea level, no cliffs, valleys or even hills to speak of yet we even have peregrines here now. This pair were photographed just over the back of me. Natural habitat, I dont think so.
grizzal Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 oh bleeding great ,that guess where i live? :o :o :o :o[anyone want "percy" on a stick?] ps was that in the comet? Yes chrisss it is on page 6, that makes him or her half way between us :o
DJ Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 i havnt had my pigeons for long and was hoping to start racing them in the near future but my pigeons have already had to put up with regular attacks from sparrowhawks to the extent that some of them wont even come out of the loft for excercise :( if the peregrines move into my area which seems likely ( as they have been seen in essex annd hertfordshire and i know that they are in brighton 20 miles south of me) then i will just pack it all in and keep a few of my favourites as prisoners which i really dont want to do as i love to watch my birds out flying the bop situation has now got totally out of control and all the rspb want to do is protect their sparrowhawks and peregrines > > why dont they build nesting sites for the eagle owl in the uk-because they know that they would hunt their precious sparrowhawks and peregrines and reduce their numbers > enough said i can already feel my blood starting to boil debbie
les Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 one thing for sure [they are realy going to *expletive removed* up this years racing ,because no one has controled their numbers ],it will be 2 times worse than last season .
