andy Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 we had very few losses when its was the amalgamation, absolutely first class racing... fell away in the final year when a lot of feds pulled out... 'lofts in favourable positions' etc etc, we all know it was the best doo on the day who won the race in this type of competition right up to as far north as aberdeen Very few losses Willie cos the Pentland Fed birds towed yours up the road. LOL
stevenf Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 going through this thread there are a few winners of the amals on this site that posted replies does anyone think it will happen again ? most have said the losses were minimal & during the racing season there is alot of threads on losses so you would think we should be doing everything possible to prevent this plus save on the cost transport if its shared
Ian McKay Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Lets see if we can get this up and running again I will go as far as saying I am sure the ABERDEEN Federation would like to see this happen So lets get together get a meeting arranged Agenda Amalgamation racing Pick our races Lets get it sorted Nobody will do it for us we need to get together soon Ian McKay
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Common sense at the forefront. :) I may add the same thing needs to take place in the west of Scotland.
jimmy white Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 years ago we used to have "the east of scot continental club"[more birds went to that than any national now why not have "a west of scotland continental club" and have two different racedays , two seperate races,,,, but plus the nationals :-/,,,, not enough members,, not enough money ,, not enough,,,,,,,, trying ;D

TORNADOLOFTS Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 yes when it was on the go it was good, I was president of the Fife fed at the time, fifer can you tell us how the amal got up and running if you no and how your fed decided that it was entering the amal
THE FIFER Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 fifer can you tell us how the amal got up and running if you no and how your fed decided that it was entering the amal yes, a meeting was arranged with the officials of the feds interested, cant remember where it was as it was when I was vice president, the secy and president was there, I then took over the presidents job, the Fife Fed transported some of the other feds, one of the problems was baskets the other feds didnt have them to fit our transporter, they had to get baskets from the fife fed, also our transporter could,nt go up to pick up birds they had to be brought down, as it was going to cost more money for 2 drivers as one would use too much of his time doing so, but it was a good thing, with the transporter going down the road full.
Delboy Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Common sense at the forefront. :) I may add the same thing needs to take place in the west of Scotland. Well done Gareth, good to see you volunteer your services as the new West of Scotland Amalgamation secretary.

THE FIFER Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 yes, but I would,nt leave it to the officials. I would send a letter to be read out at the agm's, let the members say, I think you would get a better respond, rather than officials just getting the say so, I think this was brought up before to start it again, but dont think it went to the members, then if ok'd by members have a meeting of the feds wanting to join.
