Roland Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 On line and Breaking points ;D On Line Breaking point? Seems when a pigeon is a ‘Good Un’ comes on line :-/ . Yes often said If it comes from that direction…. Between the Tree and that roof or whatever it will be a good un’. Does that mean that most weeks the birds aren’t a good un… or didn’t break? :-/ Or why is it that they break some weeks and not others? :-/ :-/ Did we give them a new 'Breaking Point? :-/ :-/ Indeed does that mean that they went back to a ‘Breaking Point' and then missed out somewhere to Come of Line…. :o :B :B Further, if one looks at that ‘Line’ does it, or would it go direct to the race Point? :-/ :-/ Then I ask, 'Well as ALL race points are a different direction each week, how come it comes on THE same line as when it is a Good Un’? :-/ :o How can we puzzle out why then, that If one week it is a Good Unon the that Line from the North Rd, yet is also 2 weeks later when from the South Rd On the Same Line? :o :-/ 8).
pjc Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Another one of the great mysterys! When I raced at Oxford, we had a row of apple trees, if the birds trapped over the trees they were not going to win, if they trapped from either end of the trees they would be infront. What we worked out was that if the birds were racing they couldn't land safely at the speed they would be traveling in the short drop over the trees.
Roland Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 As pigeons fly in an Arc, whether to the East, or to the West, from Lib point to Loft.... does that mean we have to have several 'Breaking points lol ;D ;D... Mind is strange that they always fly throiugh a valley where one is near :o Could that be when 'It is a Good Un'? :-/ :-/
Roland Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 Ah got it.... It is when they find that Valley and come out that they are a 'Good Un' ;D ;D ;D Or a Bad one eh :-/ :-/ Could that be why certain lib points seem to suit certain lofts? and Breaking point :-/ :-/
OLDYELLOW Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Ah got it.... It is when they find that Valley and come out that they are a 'Good Un' ;D ;D ;D Or a Bad one eh :-/ :-/ Could that be why certain lib points seem to suit certain lofts? and Breaking point :-/ :-/ i think as the flyer selects his pigeons he buys and trys to breed same type hence a favourate / favoured race point emerges , but i believe its down to the type of pigeons the flyer selects
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Am I the only one who gets birds back (and winning ones) from every point on the compass (shrug) that also includes North (and they still won)
