ALF Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 what would the members say would be the latest for to get y/bs for racing this year. 1st couple of weeks in june would be the latest Patty but even that migh be pushing it if there are no other y/b's in the loft to bring them on and get them flying quickly.

aye ready Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 would birds weaned at this time be able to complete the program how far along teh moult would they be. thanks no bother as another pb member mentioned as long as theres other y/bs (older) to push them along wouldn't worryabout the moult though i personally don't send y'bs to a race if they have only 3 flights to go once the 7th goes thats them finished for me.Idon't do darkness and still won 4 from 6 races with y'bs in 2008 and thats in a 32 member club with an average 18 sending every wk

aye ready Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 thats good results bearing in mind the the "modern" thinking is darkness to win the yb races [more over the later [longer?] ones didn't go to the y'b national but won the club from the y'b open,think i was 2nd as well (need to check) anyway as 7th and 20th open and that was against the darkies
