Novice Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 in one word yes Hi Terry, I m actually taken aback at the content of this thread. It actually goes a long way to explaining the results of some people. Robert Reid
jr Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 it will only work when birds are liberated within 24 hours of treatment , have seen it been given to 6 birds , which took the first 6 places in the federation, i agree not fair but still legal at this moment in time, i dont know of anything that works on birds that are in the basket for several days
jr Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 many years ago whilst doing a job for a chap who owned several chemist shops and a herbal production plant and who also raced greyhounds i was given an insight into what would and what would not assist competion animals to obtain better results , as stated earlier any product will only work on top class pigeons he introduced me to creatine before it was ever made available to pigeons plus several other formulas he was convinced that good performances could be obtained by the use of legal substances i would add he was totally agaist antibiotic use for any thing else other than genuine illness that could not be cured any other way he stated there will always be a PRICE TO PAY for long term antibiotic abuse there are some very good herbal substances about at the moment more use should be made of these, if only our transporters where disinfected weekly alot of our troubles would not exist
terry mccarthy Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 la sota used abroad a lot beleve me i no and used a lot in this country and it is illegal to bring this into the uk as it is a live vaccine when a loft isnt performing they will give the la sota to force form on the pigeon it can force form for upto 4 weeks it offers no value for its pupose of a vaccine do not mix other pigeon that have not had la sota for at least 48 hrs
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 how wrong you are if you think nothing out of a bottle will get you those extra yards per minute and its still legal at the moment but it will only work on quality birds not the ninety nine point nine percent of crap going to the races sorry but nothing will work for them :) i think what you are saying it is more like an enhancement drug , which is illegal, there are lots of THINGS in bottles which KEEP our birds healthy ,some of which i use, hard work , dedication to your birds in my eyes will always be the way forward , motovation is the main thing in making your pigeons fly faster, NOT $HIT/drugs in a bottle.( my opinion).
Skull Lofts Posted March 29, 2009 Author Report Posted March 29, 2009 it will only work when birds are liberated within 24 hours of treatment , have seen it been given to 6 birds , which took the first 6 places in the federation, i agree not fair but still legal at this moment in time, i dont know of anything that works on birds that are in the basket for several days So what you say is that it should be given on basketing day ?
Guest racer Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 all i can say is if you cant win legaly then you should'nt be racing at all
terry mccarthy Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 So what you say is that it should be given on basketing day ? if u give it on basketing day u will make everyones birds ill in the baskets dont forget it is a live vaccine my advice dont go there
Dave barrie Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 could this perhaps be a factor to trying to explain losses, they seem to have got a lot worse in the last couple of years, if people are doing things like this on or before basketing then it would expiain a lot.
Hogni Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 What happened to getting your birds in top form the old way, and i don´t care if it is legal at the moment, it´s unethical to me. It´s this sort of things that are killing our great sport!!!!!!!
Jeremy Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Crazy to give a live vaccine 24hrs before a race if defra is reading this they will have a fit as your spreading a live virus around and pigeon racing will be banned!!! Do the right thing and vaccinate with a dead vaccine 4 weeks before the 1st race....
Guest Owen Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 All that sounds like a load of crap to me. It will be used to explain why the incompetant don't win races. It's not fair because they, (whoever they are) send more birds, or use potions, or have an unfair advantage because of this that and the other thing. I don't think there are short cuts. It's about getting up in the morning and getting the job done. It's about reading and listening and asking questions. It's about luck and dedication, knowledge and skill and godness knows what else. There are no short cuts just work, both physical and mental and when that is done then start again.
ribble Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Hard Work, Common Sense (which ain't that common) and bloody good pigeons.
holmsidelofts Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Yeah i totally agree owen. Looking for a win in a bottle is a waste of time. If it was that easy then and legal then everyone would be doing it. Also as ribble said you need bloody good pigeons to win, No product will make poor pigeons win, or any animal for that matter. As i always say you cant win the grand national with a pit pony. The best win regardless of what you give them out of a bottle. Supplements are just that, they supplement whats already there and give the bird that edge over others. good luck all in the coming weeks. jas.
