thunderbigbaws Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 funny thing is you never hear of any probs or updates with tuarus system
pjc Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 the updates only seem to be a problem with unikon and the agents run for cover!
Back garden fancier Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Bricon has worked fine at our club, but Unikon has wiped some members pocket clocks clean.
budgie Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 We also had a problem on Saturday with the Unikon Race Arrival Times. We had a pigeon timed recorded at 11-04-32 from Otterburn and they were not liberated until 12.00 hrs.The pigeon in question arrived at 14.15 pm but the time did not record. On taking the clock to be opened it recorded the pigeon as our first timer but no time.On our own printer it recored it as 11.04.37 but there was no pigeon so we are certainly confused as to what could have caused this to happen in the first instance. :-/
midge Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 ALL CLOCKS MUST BE CLEAR BEFORE RACE MARKING I.E . NO TRAINERS IN CLOCK AS ON RACE MARKING TRAINERS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR RACE BUT WILL NOT BE RECORDED ON ARRIVAL FROM RACE SO IT IS A MUST ALL CLOCKS ARE CLEAR BEFORE RACEMARKING

OLDYELLOW Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 funny thing is you never hear of any probs or updates with tuarus system is the reason been not many are using this system

IT WAS JUST BY CHANCE THAT I FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM WITH UNIKON AS THEY DO NOT TELL ANY FANCIERS ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS THAT HAPEN AND DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT THE UPDATES ARE FOR AS YOU KNOW POOLING BIRDS WERE TAKEN OUT OF CLOCK AND ONLY FOUND OUT AFTER UPDATE BY THE FANCIER NOT BY UNIKON
thunderbigbaws Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 there was a fancier in methil had 12 bird timed in at 10.10 on sat morning and birds not liberated till 11.30. all these probs and unikon are keeping quiet, they were,nt very quiet when the system was getting introduced

WILL BE COMING OUT TO SORT ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT ARE BEING FOUND BUT WHEN I DO NOT KNOW AS WITH KILL RACE OPTION ALL CLOCK SETTERS WILL NEED TO BE CAREFUL IF USING THAT OPTION AS WE COULD HAVE MORE THAN ONE RACE IN CLOCK AND COULD KILL WRONG RACE
bullcock Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 on our 1st race one unikon users 1st bird didn't register and anothers printed the arivals but no times. on the 2nd race the same fanciers system wouldn't work at all during marking and had to use an stb. upgrades or downgrades you decide. people are using the ETS system as a forward step in pigeon racing but in our club only 2 people use it and both have missed out in time-ins in the 1st race and one wouldn't work at all in the 2nd race!
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 on a thread on pb a while ago about which was the best ets to buy just about everyone on here said unicon ,have they now changed their mind i wonder? i will keep using my t3s for now . Think the reason for that was that hardly anyone had to pay for them they all had them payed for by the grants the clubs received.
sapper756 Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 I have come to the conclusion, taking into account, all the pm,s I,ve received and the replies to this thread, that it looks as if the latest update is the problem :-/ don,t know if it,s a good idea to bring out another update to correct this, as this is when you lose data from clocks :-/ would also like to say a Unikon Rep. is on the case
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Although i love my ETS for several reasons, all the ETS systems have the same reliability as the old Toulet clock which has been around for many decades.

CREBAG Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 When theres an error with ETS, ive always found its a human error on setting up etc. ;D
Guest IB Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 When theres an error with ETS, ive always found its a human error on setting up etc. ;D I agree with you. But the current problem looks as if it has been caused by the human(s) at Unikon who tested the software and still released it with a glitch in it. Problem is too widespread for it to be Operator error, especially as most of these Operators in Scotland have been doing so successfully for 2/3 years.
CREBAG Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Hi, ive known this to happen once since we've been using Unikon, the reason was the pocket clock wasnt put into the loft base station properly before the birds were due, a little turd in between the p/clock and the base can stop this happening too, im not saying this is whats happpened but its a possibillity. atb.
