have usualy heard a cuckcoo by this time but none at all this year , doubt it be a sound many children will ever hear

I would say its the gosh hawk population,, the gosh hawks were very rare down here in wales 10 years ago,, but now there are hundreds,, they are the mink of the bird world,, they kill everything and have no fear of humans,, Have a guess how their numbers have got soo large,, all I will say is buzzard nests and transplanting eggs..

 

many other birds will go by the way side,, but I do expect a backlash very soon regarding things like this..
