alec guinness Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 yes stb i never expect anything other than a severe test at the gold cup race and again have flown in these races that have very few doos on the shift,i do think small convoys which are getting smaller every year are not the answer.
alec guinness Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 There are no 3 or 4 day birds on the Reims result mate,as the race would have finished by then. And the later birds are due to horrendous weather conditions not small convoys. mentioned these birds in context of the bbc & bicc never mentioned reims.

alec guinness Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I agree with Alec ,but what is the problem are we now keeping to many middle distance pigeons. budgie nail on the head,no names mentioned but close pal previous rennes winner has changed most of his bloodlines for types that will win at the inland races. :(
Guest Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 mentioned these birds in context of the bbc & bicc never mentioned reims. Lets put things into perspective,i PERSONALY would be quite happy to race from 500 miles and beyond against 20 of the best sending 200 birds, as to win would be an achievement of some relevance. On the other hand if another 30 joe blogs make up the birdage on a wing and a prayer does it enhance the race any.NO.
Guest stb Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 if the air dosent clear soon with all the heat and east winds showers and mist it dont make for good racing. when the weather like this there is very little uplift and makes flying hard work for the birds some good major thunderstoms and some westerly winds is what we need. Racing been up and down all year with so many east winds. Its hard work even cleaning out birds in this type of weather or basketing them .
frank-123 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 well just imagine if lanarkshire members had better returns over the last few weeks i think that is a great turnout from lanarkshire for ypres considering lanarkshire 4th and 5th open from alencon last week could a lanarkshire doo win ypres

IF IT WAS ONLY THE TOP 20 FANCIERS WHO RACED EVERY TIME THEN PIGEON RACING IS FINNISHED ALREADY AS THERE WOULD BE NO NEW DECSENT FANCIERS COMING THROUGH FROM THE JOE BLOGS TO RACE AGAINST

budgie Posted July 1, 2009 Author Report Posted July 1, 2009 well just imagine if lanarkshire members had better returns over the last few weeks i think that is a great turnout from lanarkshire for ypres considering lanarkshire 4th and 5th open from alencon last week could a lanarkshire doo win ypres Canceling a race and re-jigging our programme has had no adverse effects on the Performances within the SNFC and when you consider last years Falaise race we had 25 pigeons in the 1st ,100 in the Open its on the cards that the West Sect is overdue another National Win. Good Luck to ALL.

Guest stb Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Agree but the achievement is beating the quality not the joe blogs.Agree there but if you go outside the snfc or snrpc circle and the result is in say b h w and other people look at the result and the birdage is only say 200 . they dont no its the best 200 they just say weak club poor birdage easy win . unfortunately when the birdage is low you dont always get the credit you deserve.
