Not sure Chris if i had known anyone wanted to know could found out from the local fisherman cant get much better than weather forecast from them   I seen pictures down here of when our lifeboat was out coming back with racebirds that landed on it  :-/  Living on the coast you learn how quickly the weather changes can be sunshine one minute and next its pouring with rain and blowing a gale

The North sea  gas / Oil piping and what not was being done, it was imperative to have acruate forecasts. There was many heavy and fixings at a lot of money. 'Clear Time'  to enable time for the operation was a must.

This was done by the R.A.F. This turned out to be very good within in a couple of minutes. This litually said 1 28 so and so till 2 45 then 2 46 to 2 57 it will be.

To say it was acruate is an understatement.

they was approach in regards Line Flights and liberations in the early 70's. Fine and great time they charge a little... What and it's free on the BBC!

So they shot themselves in the foot again there.

The R.A.F now price themselves out I believe, ... because we ain't worth the hassle.
