The Navigator Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I won the club race by 34yds today. I had eight come together. I only wanted 1 registered as I do not see the point having the rest done, unless its a national or classic race. I believe other members sometimes do not deserve to be pushed down the sheet when its only a fed race. What do you think. 28 out of 29 so overall a decent race.

Good on yer mate ;) Far too many wanabees clocking loads of birds, its a continental thing, 'wahaay look at me, look many birds I have clocked' It just adds to the spin for adverts later in the year
Guest Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 always clock a second bird as if the 1st 1 is thrown out for some reason the 2nd is a backup and keeps you in averages etc well done on your win
The Navigator Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 always clock a second bird as if the 1st 1 is thrown out for some reason the 2nd is a backup and keeps you in averages etc It is ETS so I am covered with that one.
Guest bigda Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 don't see the problem clocking all the birds, they are paid for like the rest of them, so it would give fanciers false hope, not knowing you had ten in before them and every week they think they are second to you, but might be 15 Min of difference in time, and for by that there are clubs who have club pools, to contest
THE FIFER Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I wouldnt like to win a place knowing there was birds in before me but not clocked, thats not racing really is it,
rick Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 the same bloke took the first 13 positions last week severn valley fed and fair play to him
just ask me Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 what do u mean mate sorry sorry should have explained it better if your club only allows the first 4 birds lets say u have 10 birds clocked with all 10 in with a chance of getting a national position will your club just pass on the first 4 or will all 10 birds times go to the national for the result hope this makes sense

If a fancier is putting 10 before me i will aim to make it only 5 then only 3 and so on.

Guest spin cycle Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Good on yer mate ;) Far too many wanabees clocking loads of birds, its a continental thing, 'wahaay look at me, look many birds I have clocked' It just adds to the spin for adverts later in the year i also agree...personally i've far more respect for a fancier who wins but only clocks 2 than someone who fills their clock. ok so the first guy gives some cards away...so what....it helps those fanciers just starting and those who perhaps not as wealthy or strong...but who provide the competition and do the work.
VAGIN Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 If you PAY for 10 birds to go to a race Then the results stands
Guest Grasshopper Lofts Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 i think when clubs have ets and manual clocks its a little fairer to impose a limit of some kind just to make it a little fairer, also gives new starters a bit of hope, after all isnt that what its about getting more people interested in this great sport
Chris Little Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 i also agree...personally i've far more respect for a fancier who wins but only clocks 2 than someone who fills their clock. ok so the first guy gives some cards away...so what....it helps those fanciers just starting and those who perhaps not as wealthy or strong...but who provide the competition and do the work. Excellent post my friend The so called superstars with their fancy race results forget about the backbone of our sport, the guys who are content on getting in the tail end of a prizelist ETS has capitalised this to the extreme
