The future of pigeon racing lays in natural immunity, the downfall in over medicating/drugging.

 

Tony I know you are a top man but I can't agree, the future of humanity is not natural immunity, so can't see how it will be with pigeons. I can accept though that the 700 mile men if they keep testing them will have natural immunity because they will be racingand breeding birds of the finest constitution! The sprint loft is breeding not for constitution but speed!

wouldn't say its drugging  would say  it was management

as not all birds need done with the same treatment and they can go 2-3 weeks from getting nothing, cant see a athlete run when he has the trots,  ;D

the flip side to this , would be under medication , resulting in restance to any futher medication if needed . i am not advocating bang this & that med into them on a routine basis . if a loft has a prob . the correct use of a med can sort it , then its down to the bird's own immune system to kick in . in loft.s where anti-bio's are used week in & week out , i agree the immune system is shot .

I know of a loft that does'nt treat for anything and does'nt vaccinate and the doos are some of the finest you'll see and very rarely have anything wrong with them

Never had any problems with someone not jagging their doos and i say that in my own club If you jag your own doos you have nowt to worry about so i never care about anyone else jagging their birds 8) 8)

Dont think you need to treat to win Tony thats why i posted about someone who i know that does'nt treat for anything mate and has never vaccinated his doos either as he does'nt agree with it mate and he does ok

what do you mean tony, like all these guys that dont  treat  ask them to hand in a sample to the vet and see if  he advises any thing , they will get  a surprise  and so will the vet ;D

tony , you only have to treat if needed , in most case's when the immune system is in full swing , stuff that can be bought over the counter , will keep all prob's in check , no anti-bio's just simple anti-bacterial's , iodine , bi-carb of soda , grape fruit juce , copper sulphate , tcp , copper sulphate .

tony , you only have to treat if needed , in most case's when the immune system is in full swing , stuff that can be bought over the counter , will keep all prob's in check , no anti-bio's just simple anti-bacterial's , iodine , bi-carb of soda , grape fruit juce , copper sulphate , tcp , copper sulphate .

 

any vinegar , i use plain white , its all acidic .
