jade, a hell ov a lot of pigeons missing in dundee and angus for nothing unusual to happen... the birds clashed we all know that now hence the losses and the very few returns today... these lost youngsters are miles form there lofts and 99% will probally never see there lofts again!

i was answering lithgilad who got all his birds home. however got to say clashing is not unusual as it happens every year once you are past 100 miles cos the english feds are above us. as i said in my post until there is a RADICAL change in attitude it will always happen. what i mean is someone is going to have to agree not to liberate until afternoon or wait until sunday i.e north road one week south road the next but it will never happen cos doo men are too stubborn and most cant see the wood for the trees. somehow dont think the lanarkshire disaster was all down to clashing as too many are missing. it seems some are being reported on the north west coast which suggests they were trying to follow a line west of the pennines but previous to that they had been on a slightly different route (hexham) and then given a 60 mile jump. i suggested last night the jump may be part of the problem but got shot down so what do i know

For what its worth, as far as clashing goes, then Lanarkshire should have had a far greater pull on whoever they clashed (if they did) with. I dont think there were too many feds with their birdage. In the past I believe there was a far greater risk of clashing , far more pigeons in the sky on the same day. Im thinking back to racing with the railways, when far narrower corridors were used, and with a lot less access to present day weather forecasting and communications.

It will be interesting to find out where the birds start getting reported from.
